Tom Wallisch has done a triple.

you're not the only one.

Like any and all "inside NS jokes" they're funny once, maybe twice, and a bunch of dweebs see it and use it as an opportunity to be on the in, posting it with a wink and a nod like, yeeaah man....I know what's up.

im extremely happy to say that for once i havent been on NS enough in the past few months to know the reference... care to explain anyone?

Damn, my brain was functioning so well. Regardless, the homie got fucked up on that Sun Valley jump. Same shit.

I think I pretty much covered everything with that last post, this discussion is over at this point, but this is one of the better arguments I've ever had on NS.

honestly i think your argument sucks, you're just jumping on the "this trick is way too extreme, lets go back to style tricks" bandwagon. But we all know, through time that all these "way too extreme tricks" have become stylie. You think freeskiing is progressing the wrong way, well im sorry son, but the fact that skiing's getting more and more popular / not a pure sport, means a lot more people are practicing the sport. With the word freeskiing comes a bunch of people, all progressing in different directions: you've got the b&e style, big mountain jibbers, big mountain huckers, comp jocks, wizard skiers, space craft skiers, jungle gym jibbers etc.

you don't have to like triples, but saying people doing triples are stupid, is stupid

and regulating jump size is probably as gay as the fis, you sound like a mother!!

im personnally not a huge fan of triples, although i thought this triple did not look bad

cant wait to see tom's triple, i bet 10$ he did a triple cork 10 mute or swithc triple 14 japan LOL

so in the OP its an instagram picture, i dont know about anybody else but i would love to see the actual video. if a link hasnt already been posted

There is no video...why would someone film tom wallisch triple?...all electronic equipment within 500 feet is instantly sucked into the black hole formed by his future spin

For many people skiing is not skiing. They just want to be trendy, so they ask father to buy them best looking gear and earn respect, Which doesn't really bother me because it won't affect me any ways.

Except longer lift lines. But hey, That's life.

I generally agree with you that so-called "purists" of the sport will always be unsatisfied, and so they should probably just chill out and go ride however they see fit. Most people I hear talk like that are either old, bitter, and out of the game (like me) or just wannabes that weren't really around, but they bought a new-old stock copy of Look It Up or Long Story Short or something.

But I gotta disagree with your characterization of 2007. Maybe Dumont was the "most famous skier," or the Kang flip was the big thing in the x-games but that's just evidence that most people didn't know what was dope back then. Let's be real: the core of skiing knew what pretzels were, who Wallisch was, what was really going on in freeskiing. In 2006, most people were still shitting themselves over Vanular doing rodeo 4's and 8's onto boxes in LSS. His rodeos in that part were wayyy before their time, mute to japan and tailblunt! Shifties, blunts everywhere. That was some gangster shit. Rainville was double grabbing EVERYTHING, mute to blunt, blunt to blunt. JD Zicat had done all 8 pretzels in an edit the year before (270, sw 270, lip 270, sw lip 270, both ways and pretzel 27 every one). The ATA and SAS guys were doing every sick style trick before it was sick OR a style trick.

Then think about '07. 4bi9 and Wallisch blow up, dude does every single trick in the world at the Realtime park shoots, along with Hornbeck, Delorme, Dadali, Clarke, etc. It was a massacre. N.I.G. and Meatheads made the best underground movies in a while. Pollard, Andy, and Pep pioneered rockered shit and no poles in IDEA, still in my opinion one of the best ski movies ever made.

2007 was dope dude, and it wasn't just the Mammoth, Summit, PCMR, Tahoe scenes. It was everywhere. Instead of wanting to do kang flips or double fronts like the x-games guys, everyone wanted to do pretzels and presses and shifties and ride-away like a boss. It was like a style-renaissance, everyone looked back to guys like Mik D and T-Heed for their next move. Were there some jocky dudes rocking giro g10s and oakley suits? Sure. But those guys are STILL rocking that shit, and that's probably not gonna change.

I'm not saying now is a lame style period - it's not. But 5 years ago, steeze was definitely not lacking.

Fuck it, now I sound like a "purist." But man, this was a fun post to write. Now back to real life.

Landing a new trick is a great feeling. When you're a pro (and can do nearly any trick in the book) and look for that feeling, sometimes it could lead you to a triple. He's just gettin' that "new trick" feeling, but on a much higher level.

Well Sherpas Cinema posted the picture and he was up there (in Whistler) with the North Face team so it'll definitely be in the next TGR movie, The Dream Factory, which is filmed entirely in Alaska.

haha sounds like its gonna be a good one but not so sure if it was completely filmed in AK because i saw a webisode where they were in pemberton. but the AK segment with todd ligare in one for the road was beautiful

Hey it wasn't nearly as bad as the "twall tripple!!!" thread with the embed of the chick in the bunny suit on the scooter somersaulting over that couch

LOL as soon as Tom Wallisch lands a triple everyone gets their panties in a bunch! There's no argument or discussion to be had, pro's are gonna keep going bigger, spinning further, and progressing the sport in a way that you can't dictate. THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT YOU FUCKIN TRY-HARD PARK RAT NOOBS, GO PRACTICE YOUR 5's!!!
