Ok, so the big gay pride parade in SF...I have only one question. Why can't majorities have parades? It would be viewed as bigoted if there were a hetero-parade. (by the way, I think the word bigot gets thrown around WAY too much). People are always talking about tolerance, yet it's not really about tolerance because if I state my view on something confidently (that goes against a minority)...I'm a bigot. Tolerance?

Another example, people associate christians with being republicans, and thus bigoted because if a small group of them are that way...everyone has got to be that way. So I'm immediately written off because I'm a christian. AND I'M VIEWED AS INTOLERANT?

why isn't there a heterosexual pride parade?

simple, heterosexuals are the majority, a heterosexual parade would be seen as an act taken in order to mock gay people.

since the current society is now more accepting than it was 40 years ago, nobody really gives a fuck about whether or not you're gay.

so my question to you thread creator, is why do you care? how does it affect you in any negative manner? or do you just feel left out and you want your own parade?

Your point makes sense, but it seems a little ridiculous now that (at least in my area) gays arent discriminated against at all.

But I just had a funny idea. I think white people just became a minority in the GVRD so... white pride parade? Were pretty much entitled to it now.
 
you cant say that atall unless that was a joke. just because ajay does not support mocking the homosexuals does not make him gay. but he might be gay i do not know if he is that ight with me - karma to you and plus karma to ajay for good points

I'm sorry, I'm just a bit jealous that minorities can dress up in ass-less leather chaps in a parade while having dressed up demons worship phallic symbols. I mean, if I were to throw a parade and worship huge breasts...I would then be a sexist bigot. Regardless of parade content, someday I will have a parade!
 
Hate to break this to you but....I thinking being jealous of people wearing assless chaps in a parade is kind of the definition of latent homosexual tendencies...although at that point the latency is getting pretty debatable.

 
ya i didnt really think my points out when i wrote them, youre probably right. I dont really have a problem with gays having parades, i guess were fortunate that in some cases people are becoming more accepting of their choices. It easy to lose perespective when you live in an area where things are going relativly well you know?

Mind telling me what you mean by oppressive control? I understand we still pretty much run show in North America still but oppressive?

its called oktoberfest... everyone drinks, so we have a parade dedicated to drinking beer

and yeah we usually dont have majority parades because we're not oppressed. the majority isn't discriminated against, the purpose of those parades is to assemble in large groups to celebrate something like pride. it makes the oppressed feel better
 
you live in the bay area, which is seen as the capital of the gay community. the gay people of San Francisco have a gay pride parade to inspire courage in others who may live in an environment that is still composed of a bunch of gay bashing retards (read: the south)

and i'm not gay, just well informed, and logical
 
if you want a parade for heterosexual white people, you should join the KKK. i hear they do that sorta thing all the time.

Just a curious question, do you think this will ever shift, and if so when? Certain cultures are getting more and more powerful, and ya we got a head start but still.

and just for the record, i dont live in the bay area haha. live in Vancouver.
 
I think in some regions it already has. China's making a pretty good play for hegemony in Africa and Iran is setting a course to become a regional superpower. Not to mention India. And Russia is making a comeback (yeah, they're white, but they're slavs).
