Canada - US women's soccer rematch from 2012 Olympics. Should be excellent. Hopefully the ref isn't biased again. Seems to be a common theme in US vs Canada matches (see the women's hockey at Salt Lake for the most blatant example).

Also Canadians getting the shaft because of the rigged judging.. Maybe we're just pushovers. I remember that being a huge deal at the time.
 
Damn the us women lost! should be a reality check that we cant take the old guard any more. We really need to start a rebuild for the world cup.

Also watched bmx park and I feel like they really need some sort of grind or something cause it gets a bit repetitive. Can anyone tell me why the bikes only have pegs on one side?

Here is an interesting development on Simone Biles. She had ADHD and has been on Ritalin since childhood. Typically Ritalin is not an approved drug for the Tokyo Olympics but you can get an exemption. I wonder if her team expected her to get an exemption but it was rejected so she had to quit taking it and the side effects messed with her head? I could imagine being on something like Ritalin for years then suddenly having to quit right at the most high pressure competition in the world would get to you for sure.

I'd imagine that the team took care of getting the right docs together and it would be a bigger story if athletes were banned from taking ritalin. Concerta is legal in Tokyo for ADHD and its pretty much the same thing. I doubt the board would nix the exemption for one of the most famous athletes at the games while already having a precedent.

I don't get why people seem to accept that mental health is directly related to physical health and performance but are also climbing over themselves trying to find another justification for her drop out. This is the stigma behind mental health. When someone says this is the problem, we discount that and look for other reasons. Why not just listen to the best gymnast on Earth and accept her voice

Eh, TUEs are REALLY common for a LOT of sports. I'm sure that almost every single country has multiple athletes using inhalers, ADHD, pain meds, etc. for various reasons that all had to get approved by the IOC as well as Japanese government.

I doubt the Japanese government is going to cause a stink for countless athletes who have been legally scribed medicines.
 
Men's 400h final was super dope. What an insane final 50 meters. Rai's post race interview was so heartbreaking. He wanted it so bad.

Also if you're into distance running Sifan Hassan has got to be one of the best racers of all time. She takes her time, makes good moves in the pack, and strikes. Her 5k win was amazing and her 1500 qualifier win after falling at the bell was dope af.

its so fucking stupid that climbing is one combined competition of sport, bouldering and speed. Bouldering and sport together wouldn't be terrible but including speed pretty much guarantees that the best climbers won't make it because no serious rock climber considers speed to be part of climbing

Read an article recently and it actually makes some sense given what the IOC gave them to work with. They will most likely be split out into separate events in the future.

After checking out the highlights Pedro was definitely going the biggest and I think got punished for hitting the same qp for his big tricks a few times. Seemed underscored but tough without knowing the criteria
