so i know everybody gets it, but does anybody have any way to try and prevent it?

obviously there is the right fitting boots.

short toe nails.

and landing properly/not over or under jumping.

but as far as i know thats it. anybody have any tips?

i get this too, but it usually only happens with backseat landings, which you cant really prevent when landing in powder. just try to land not so backseat. your liners may be too packed out too

haha owned, but i've never had toe jam either? i can't really help you but maybe try wearing an extra pair of socks so your foot can go so far?

yes bloody nails... i have it too with very well fitting boots, i just had to drill a hole in my big nail and drain a lot of blood to kill the swelling. But in my case i misjudged the softness of my landing. Expecting a foot of pow and landing on an inch of windblown on ice isnt pretty

Oh this happens to me all the time.

First I had perfect fitting boots but got new socks that cut circulation.

This year wrong footbeds that put my foot in a wierd position. It was so illegit the ball of my foot and my toe was swolen. Boots punched out and superfeet work wonders.

YOU DRILL A HOLE IN YOUR NAIL ???

yuk! im glad ive never had toejam, but i also prefer super tight boots....

i got rediculous toe jam when i over shot a jump at stratton, i mean my toe nails are already black and blue to start with, but this shit hurt, never had it happen besides that though

ya with just your fingers and a tiny drill bit, dont actually use the drill to get through your nail. Its similar to what the do in the emergency room just without the seven hour wait... it actually relieves a lot of pressure and can save you from losing your nail
