Toe bang. Ouch

its better to not have a toenail while skiing for me, nothing to get jammed, one of mine is MIA also. happebs every year

thats actually the problem your boots are too big to begin with if there wasn't the space for your toes to slide forward and hit the front of your boots you wouldn't get toe band next time get boots that fit you....

i lost both of my toe nails in one season to toe bang. i went to a store to see if they could help me and they sold me some sole thing for your boot but it doesnt work so dont buy anything like that. i just bought bigger boots and i havent had a problem yet so id say you go with bigger boots

ya my bigtoe nails arent even purple anymore. they've moved on to black. Im trying to tough out one more year before I get some new boots.

ya def smashed one of mine. all i can suggest is more socks? my sis uses her dance pads that act like a gel to cover the toes...not sure where u could get some though.cut the nail real short too.

i have no experience but i'm saying wrap as much gauze around it as you can while still fitting in your boot and take some painkillers.

GET SMALLER BOOTS. the reason you get it is b/c the boot is too big and your toes are banging into the front. also, cut your toenails a lot. Also, learn to land right. LEARN FORWARD. I know this isnt always the case, and sometimes you land backseat, but try and make an effort.

My boots are already two sizes smaller then my skate shoes. I had them shell fit and there was 1 and inch space. That is definately small enough. They might even be to small. Could casing cause toe bang? I cased this step up like 3 or 4 times badly.

no but its not fleshy or bleeding or anhting like that. it hardened after like a day of no toenail so its fine, doesnt bother me at all

you must go see the monks high in the tiebettan mountains.. only they can purify your soul and purge you of the curse...

the curse... of the black toenail !!!

good call. i have wierd shaped so they fit real tight but i still get them hiting the toes. i think mine actually are just smal enough so that my toenail is constantly pressing against the front of the boot when i lean back

i started ductaping my toenails down so they dont get broken, other then that land flat instead of backseat

before i got smaller boots i lost my right toe nail for two years in a row. it would turn purple and fall off right about april vacation every year. just get smaller, tighter fitting boots and try and keep it out of the backseat, like what everyone else said.

yeah well that happened to me and the nail was coming partially off so i just ripped it off in my car and threw it out the window. sounds retarded but its better than having ur nail flop around. rapped some gauze around my toe and taped it up - good as new. only took a few months and now my toenail is almost back to normal

just a little messed

ha i dont have a suggestion, but i have a story. one winter in high school, I lost both my big toe nails at one time. unfortunately, i had a formal dance to go to before they had a chance to grow back. so, i made the best of the sitation and painted the skin!. haha.

toe bang means that your foot is cramped in the boot, or it slid forward in the boot into the toe box.

clamp your buckles down as tight as possible.
