I hope everyone remembered to take a brief moment of silence to remember those who have died in the line of service.

Please Remember them. Please Remember what they did. Please Remember what they fought for. and Please Remember to show your respect by wearing a Poppy.

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow

Between the crosses row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)

Canadian Army

I could write something very negative here about my dads freind who died because of the US Military, but i wont.

We wear a poppy

On Remembrance Day,

And at eleven

We stand and pray.

Wreaths are put

Upon a grave.

As we remember

Our soldiers brave.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.

Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.

They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,

They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

You do realize today is not just an american tradition right? I dont see how that has any place in here.

Today is the 100th anniversery of the end of the 1st world war.

November 11th 1918

Lest We Forget

Its done all around the world, to remmeber fallen soldiers in all major battles, pm me if you want an argument over it, i dont.

i slept through the moment of silence. i guess i was silent. but i still felt bad. i took some time when i woke up though.

Don't just remember those who died. Remember all who served and are still serving. My dad fought in Vietnam for 13 months and I know today means a lot to him (since his father died 10 years ago today).

Respect.

not trying to start an argument, i just thought the shot at america was out of place. you could have just as easily said RIP to your dads friend.

It would be cool to go down to the local VFW Hall

(where I assume some vets will be sipping a few brews) plopping 50-100

bucks on the bar and telling the bartender the next round is on me. I

don't want to make a show of it or anything, just a gesture of

appreciation.

This day ill remember for a while. A girl at my school "attempted" to play the bugle. She slipped up on a few notes at the beginning and by the end the call was barley recognizable. She was so embarrassed I kinda feel really sorry for her.

Very true, thank you. I hadn't even really thought of it, and they didn't even make an announcement in school as you would expect, so I paused my music and had my own moment of silence.
