To those who know a thing or two about ghetto cameras

I know I could spend 30 minutes googling this but I figured I'd get a better answer from one of you guys. Basically, when I was little my grandpa gave me a "Mamiya ZE". Think that's the model name. Anyhow, it's broken and was just wondering if its worth repairing or not?

Its pretty old as it uses film.. but ya. Any help would be appreciated.

film looks a ton better than digital, but you can buy a nice all manual 35mm slr for like 2 hundred. so depends how much you can fix it for. and also to get the most out of it you really need a darkroom you can use. but its worth it cause your pics will look so much better than something from a dslr

unless its a pretty minor repair i would think you would be better off to get something more modern, did he give you any lenses n filters n stuff like that with it that might only work with the original body?

Thanks for the help so far guys, ya I imagine it's only a minor issue. The thing you use to wind the film is basically broken. So I can't imagine it being too pricey...

As for lens.. Theres a 50mm lens on it. No filters

doooode, I have that camera ! Here's a picture I took of it haha:

umm there's a whole website devoted to it and loads of people who collect them and WILL know how to fix them:

hope that helps!

Oh and I shoot all sorts 40D, 5D, 1dMk3. couple of Nikons in the past, and I still bloody love the ZE, it's an amazing camera, allot of history behind it too!

film is awesome! takes awhile to get used to. It isn't as convenient as digital but u can get some really nice shots with film. film has such a cool look to it.
