I have just finished watching the first two episodes on the first disc. The second episode ends with the Continental Congress voting on the Declaration of Independence. This was one of the most powerful scenes I have ever watched in my entire life, I was physically moved to tears. Has anyone else watched the show, and did it affect you at all?

Dude, did you watch the special at the end of the BOB series, with all of the veterans? That was a real tear jerker, and that def affected me more than this did. I think it was called "We Stand Alone Together." When Dick Winters tells the story of one of his men and the question his grandson asked him: "Grandpa, were you a hero in the war? Grandpa said no, but I served in a company of heroes." That line really got me.
yeah, anything like that really makes an impression on me because I have living relatives who served in WWII. They truly are the greatest generation. When Hanks dies at the end of Private Ryan is bad too, also, the execution scene in Braveheart. I saw that movie when it came out back in the 90s and have loved it ever since. I have probably seen it 50 plus times but that scene at the end just owns me every time. The thing is, I don't feel like a bitch crying about this stuff and I don't care who knows haha. But with the declaration scene in John Adams, seeing the unanimous (kinda, minus NY) vote to declare independence and when they read the declaration-that was just powerful for me.
