To those kids in park today

I just wanted to say you don't know where I've been for the past three years, or what I've been doing, that has caused me to have shitty big wind up 360s. I am very comfortable with where my skiing ability is, given that I hardly ski anymore, and it just shows how immature, thoughtless, and just straight-up the fact that you're all shitty people that you all went and mocked me by doing big wind up zero rotation jumps. Luckily I don't let little shits like you Fuck up my days, and I had so much fucking fun hitting rails after you had to bring negativity into my day. /rant. Moral is, don't mock people in the park! You have no clue what their story is, and it's mad Fucked up cause a lot of people would have been truly phased by your shitty personalities.
 
I can somewhat relate to you. I'm from Texas (lol I know right) and got into park a few years ago and I struggle so much to keep up with my friends on progression because I only get to ski as much as traveling allows

That sucks. The thing is tho, I used to ski with goods skiers and they never mocked anyone. I don't know if something changed over the last few years, but god damn. Children are assholes
 
Stoked for you man! I think its annoying when people hate on others, and really Its annoying to have that mentality of the I gotta look steezy and good (nothing wrong with that, RIP 2009 era) Its annoying when people are so worried about being judged and just looking at someone and assuming they suck right away. I just want everyone to come together and chill and have a good time

people only behave like that out of insecurity, they're immature and don't even deserve a thread made about them. Skiing isn't about that. At all. It's about peace and calm loving fun while gettting in touch with nature. Love each other. These kids will hopefully learn this.

They sound like that group of obnoxious kids that are mediocre at park and think they're the shit. People did the same shit to me when I first started skiing park. I think my favorite memory was some guy walked by me and said "Nice full tilts bro" and pointed at my rental boots from the 80s. I never got why some park rats love to be huge douche bags on the hill. I never see skaters doing it at skate parks.
 
Dont give kids shit for trying to have fun, especially when theyre doing the exact same thing as you. We all ski to put a smile on our face and making someone not have fun because you wont let them is just fucked up.

Every time I'm out at my hill this group of skiers will yell and call me saga kid off the lift, I don't even wear that much saga so it's really annoying, but the majority of the kids in the group suck at skiing and I could beat them in a game of ski any day so I've just learned to deal with it

this is my biggest issue with the park scene nowadays. i just switched to skiing this year and i can't even go in the park and try and progress at rails without having some 15 year old laugh at me and mock me for not being able to ski like a pro. its whatever though, i enjoy skiing out of the park more nowadays anyways. i like skiing trees and hitting sidejumps more.

Those are the worst kind of people and often they have some sort of insecurity of their own. For whatever reason Carinthia has a large population of these types of people. It's not just young kids either I had these two skiers last weekend (drunk as fuck) tell me "sick pants" then talk shit as they rode away.

I've wondered this too. I'm not a good skateboarder by any stretch of the imiganation, but whenever I'm at a skatepark people either don't say shit, or they come up and chill and give you tips.

When in the park and do a 5 on a box I'll get mocked by the most stereotypical 12 year olds wearing saga who can 7. I'll do a flat 3 and get shit from that guy who wears a jumpsuit and flaps his arms like an bird because my "landing looks like shit"

I've got two bad knees a fucked ankle, and I've only been in the park game for a couple years.

But it's whatever. Guess there will always be those people.

I believe it man! Sickest park but just not the friendliest atmosphere all the time. It is hit or miss, some days I'll lap the singles line and meet nothing but the nicest people ever then other days (mostly weekends now that I think about it) I run people like you and I encountered. Just gotta ignore them and keep riding
 
Haha sorry brother I feel your pain cause it has always been this way. When I was a little kid learning how to 3 people made fun of me from the lift. Unfortunatly the victims become the bullies and the cycle is endless.
 
I can get why people mock gapers or some teenagers that think they are the shit side jumping the rails. But I hate it when kids mock someone in the park who is really trying to get better. Even if it's their first time trying rails, 3s, or even 180s have a little respect. We were all there at one point and the fact that the person is trying any of those tricks is fucking awesome. Don't take the joy away from them. Go down there hype them up or something and make some friends. It's worth it.

Whoever out there that was doing this should be ashamed of themselves.

We're all brothers and sisters out there, and it disgusts me to hear that there is this kind of attitude floating around. I quit racing because of that shit, and seeing it happen in park skiing disgusts me.

Its a real problem in general in skiing though - something about the sport breeds this type of behavior. If you're wearing too much park-looking stuff and you go to a hike zone, you'll get mocked for being a stupid park kid. Go to the race course not as a racer, mocked for not being a racer. Same applies basically everywhere... for some reason there is a disproportionate amount of assholes out there in skiing.

It needs to stop. Stop making fun of gapers. Stop making fun of park rats. Stop making fun of racers. Just fucking stop.

Its just skiing. Lets all just go ski and have a blast with other skiers. Help a fellow skier out with some tips instead of mocking them.

Maybe you should learn to laugh at yourself, and worry about yourself. I'm not sure why you value the opinions of teenage parkrats so much, seems kinda weird.

Do what makes you happy and doesn't hurt others. Have enough confidence to know what you're doing is fun and right for you. If what the haters are saying truly is funny, learn to laugh at yourself.

Lol reminds of this one funny kid at my mountain earlier this season.

We were looking up at this one fuccboi Seth hitting a fat long semicircle tube and he slid off about 3/4 of the way down the tube and was completely off it before the end. Mah boy Loris sees this and yells out to Seth, "Damn Seth! That was steezy as fuck! So sick!" I'm fucking dying of laughter cause Seth has such a fucking awkward style while he's asking Loris, "Really??? Thanks man!"

Ever since then we always just say "steezy af" in reference to literally anything. Like my friend will say something like "I almost got pulled over on the way here" and I'll respond with something like "dude really? That's sooo fucking steezy! That's steezy as fuck!"

I started saying it at school all the time cause it just became such a habit. My asshole friend Shane would always make fun of it. I would go off saying something was "sooo steezy" and he would be like "Dude Adam, how steezy is it!!! Is it steezy as fuck by any chance? Like how steezy is steezy as fuck?!!?!???" Honestly fuck that kid lol I love him.
