I'm lookin to get a good urban bike so I'll stop breaking my trek 4500 whenever I jump something. I was lookin throguh the frames, and naturally, I want an Imperial or a Tankass or a Le Toy, but those are mad expensive right now.

So I saw a Trek Bruiser frame. Is that a good frame for urban and jumping and such? I know it's aluminum, but I've heard its indestructable.

if thats too expensive for yeah, then go with like a specialize p2, p3. or a banshee scratch, or the new jamis komodo, norco freeride hardtails, rocky mountain are good bikes too.

nuthin wrong with aluminum. ive never liked treks, but i havent seen this frame. check out the giant one, ironhorse's (sweet bikes, but missing a front brake, DJ style), or a specialized p2. these suckas are tanks, so if you want an urban hick bike, its prolly the way to go. if your ridin more trials style, go something else.

oh yeah, the scratches are nice. forgot abot those. DK makes a steel frame, and haros bikes are ok.

breaking my trek 4500...... hahaha. i exploded the stock fork on my 4300. and for some god forsaken reason, i put a duke XC on as a replacement. great fork for XC, but not so hot for flat landings. at least it hasn't shot oil out yet.

I broke the thingy that connects the gears twice, and finally broke the back triangle off on one side. I'd say its time for a better bike.

 
i have a 2003 one25 that i built up, but im gonna get a dualie frame soon - i discovered that as far as urban goes skateboarding is alot more fun.

flat landings are just retarded. it puts way to much stress on almost every part of the bike, its not worth it. unless your a pro trials guy, i would recomend not doing flat landings

get a snipes elemental, its a strong frame and has a good geometery for dj or urban and its hella cheap at 290us.

frames these days are bombproof, every company makes a frame that you couldnt break, and some are cheap. I currently have GUB bike from china (gubbikes.com) and a giant warp ds1, which i broke in half, and then welded back together.

Kona condercone is a good frame, and its the same as the higher models, but cheaper.

I have a Gt, but I only do light trials, because I suck.. And well XC and Dh.. Goes well for a hard-tail. But yeah If I had the money I'd get a P2 or something from Norco. P2 parts cost alot to ship

 
hahahah, yes, flat landings ARE retarded. which is why i don't drop loading docks anymore.

i find it amazing i didn't explode any tires doing that shit, but when i drop a 2 footer on a real (beginner) DH trail, i eat shit and die.

i currently ride an '04 stuff, which was stock until i got back from the T.O. bike show yesterday. gonna be lookin pimp for next season.

anyways...any of the bikes you mentioned are good or sick for urban. at the end of the day tho, no one can tell you which one to buy. do some research on sites like mtbr.com and try to test one out at the LBS or through a friend or something.

Don't buy an Urban/DJ bike from a XC company like trek. Look in to Norco; great bikes, great value.

Heres what you do, Buy an Azonic Steehlead from Bikeroom.com its 400 bucks for the frame, and its 4130 chromoly steel= indestructable, its just like a .243 onlyu cheap.. syuper sick frame man.
