I need some new knee pads(without the shin part), I am thinking sixsixone rage's. what are some knee pads perfect for DH?

yeah but it just comes down to preference.

I hear the POC joint ones are really nice, although a bit pricey. I'm a full shin/knee pad guy though.

i have the 661 evo ones, so comftorable

I use the rage and they're are probably my favorite. Great breathability and a good fit they dont slide down my leg while I'm riding. I would recommend them.

I swear by these, they feel like nothing more than a neoprene sleeve on your leg. They also make a knee only version. Besides, nothing is nicer than troy lee stuff.

I am thinking 661, but those troy lee's look pretty good. and i see a lot of the silva guys riding tld pads.

Couldnt immagine going without shin padding. I have scars on my knees from slipping on the peadels. Im also from the east where you often get bitch whipped from all the tree branches.

im from the east to and i only run knees. its all preference. i just think shins are uncomfortable and too hot. other than occasional hit to the shin im fine with just knees

same, pedal bite sucks. If I sacked up and rode clipless then I might go just knee pads, but I use these:

Fox also makes these in a half-shin:

I like the hard plastic over the D3O or whatever in the tld and 661 pads, but like people were saying already, that's just preference.

That's all you need.

Shin guards suck and are unnecessary. The majority of people who wear them are pussies whereas a rare few might actually need them. I highly doubt that you or anyone posting in this thread needs shin guards... unless you're scared of getting a few scars from them super-duper scary pedals! OMG

Haha dude I totally agree, I rarely slip of my pedal anyway. and shin pads are hot as fuck and make you look kinda newbish.

The rage's are ideal, if they're anything like my kyle straits you'll forget you have them on. Combined with a pair of TLD sprint or moto shorts and you're made.

These days I mostly just wear my TLD moto pants without anything underneath although if it's sunny i'll whip out the shorts. Used to wear shin pads but as others have said they just get too uncomfortable.
