To Ski Or Not To Ski

NSG I need your world renowned professional advice. So I've got a bit of a First World Problem on my hands. I have the opportunity to work every weekend and make more than twice what I make at my part time job now, but I wouldn't be able to ski on the weekend (I go to uni during the week) However if I take the job, I would probably have enough money to go on a couple week long ski trips.

TLDR: Ski every weekend and be broke OR Ski less but make all kinds of cash

Don't take the job. Would you rather have good memories of shredding every weekend with your bros, or working that job every weekend?

Yeah you might get enough money to go on a ski trip, but after that week ends, it's back to life.

Did you have to take out student loans? If you did, or will eventually have to, take the job. Paying back loans sucks.

What would make you happier in the long run?

This.

And also: Will this new job benefit you in your search for better jobs in the future? Do you stand to gain professionally from taking this job? Will you find what you'd be doing fulfilling?

That said, if you're at school and working part time during the week AND working during the weekends, will that be too much?

I would be at school during the week (Monday-Thursday) and only working during the weekend. Currently I work Fridays and Saturdays. If I took the new job I'd work Saturday and Sunday, but wouldnt be able to go up on Fridays because no ride. And yeah, ive got student debt. Logically taking the job would be best, but the inner ski bum in me wants to say fuck it and just ski.

You're also missing a key point to this conversation. I'm guessing since it's weekends, you're talking about like.....serving tables. fuck that, go ski.

Honestly I'd go skiing op. I have been in this situation and you won't end up happy going to school everyday and then working all weekend week after week. At least For me it was definitely better to work less and have more time to enjoy other things like skiing. Just keep your job as it is and ski the rest of your weekend.

not the greates t question to ask a bunch of hardcore skiers but

if you still have loans to pay off and such maybe take the job i know i would rather ski and all but then if you work alot this year then go on a few week trips and then youll have a bunch of savings which is always good! trust me savings are very good!!! also then you can buy some new skis and work during the summer then take next season for only part time. i know it sounds like a bummer but having money will be good you can do so much more.. and maybe you want to go on a vacation or take ypur girlfriend somewere? you want have money for that.

but do what you feel is right. im not sure what id do.

unless this job has a direct impact on your employment opportunities post graduation, i'd say fuck it. you have the rest of your life to work and wish you were skiing. college is really the last time in your life before you get bitch slapped with real world shit. take advantage of it while you can. you'll regret it if you don't.

now if we're talking an internship in your program with one of the industry leaders, definitely take the job. otherwise, work can go fuck itself.

what is the job?

I'd probably pick skiing any day, but if its some jig ass job where you get paid a ton of money for a little work the job could be tempting.

if you'll make a ton of money you could work all winter then spend a month or two in south america or nz

set up your schedule for next semester so that you can ski like twice a week. then take the weekend job and make bank and wont have to deal with liftlines. win win

Take the job. You've got lots of time to ski. Bank some cash, buy some new gear, take a trip.

This. You can ski all the time for the rest of your life man. Plus week long vacations are the tits.

As much as I agree with you on the amount of dildos you own OP, I would say ski often and ski a lot. That being said I work a full time job and get the weekends off so I ski after work and the weekends. Personally I would work the weekend job, see about cutting your hours down at your part time or get a full time job at either and work out a skiing schedule that you stick to. As long as you have some type of schedule with dedicated time to ski you should be able to ski a ton.
