To be tight, or not to be tight...

i usually wear tight pants off the hill and have always worn baggy pants on the hill and was wondering what the differences were between the two. is there any reason not to wear them?? AND most people i see with tight pants always kill it so is there some level of skill needed before wearing tight pants?

P.S. - Does anyone know how to fit pants without ruining the waterproofing or look

why not? if you wear tight pants off the hill it only makes sense to wear them on the hill. plus it looks cooler.

that was my reason for switching (not really, before I had "normal fitting" pants) ... I just can't be a thug I guess. but just wait until you can try some tight pants on, you want the fit perfect with these, too big with them looks goofy and too small and you can't move. trying them on in person is always the bast bet w/fag pants.

Definetly go fo it, Its your own style, its anoyed me too long that people do whats cool on the hill then go home and dress completely different. I don't think you need any sort of higher level of skill than a Gangsta skier.

i have no idea how to fit pants at all, I just bought some Holden girls pants and they are amazing. I recomend them a lot, they are also coming out with a boys skinny pant this year that i wil probably be getting.

Wear what you want, if you are satisfied with your luck then no one can say otherwise.

I hear that they don't keep you as warm, which makes sense. I wear baggy shit when it's cold, but I like to rock the jeans on a playful spring day.

Then the 13-year olds that I see bitching because their airblaster pants aren't warm were lying.

well a) theyre not insulated, so... yes they are not going to keep you warm. (see what I did with my grammar there?)

and b) 13 year olds dont ever get cold, its science.

wear whatever you think looks good, i see plenty of kids with tight pants who suck and plenty of kids in full saga who suck, you don't have to reach a certain level to unlock the rights to clothing, it's not a video game, it's whatever you want. if you're super self conscious and you don't want people saying "look at that tool in tight pants who sucks" then wear something that blends in. but seriously just do what you want

"... is there some level of skill needed before wearing tight pants?" lol

i wear a pair of tight Analog pants, so my answer is: no :D i totally suck at skiing (but my snowboard skills are good enough to allow me to wear them)

i wasn't so sure to buy them but as i tried them they fit so confortable they got me immediatly...

i must admit i feel a guilty pleasure looking a bit different than the average rider (that's because on my homemountain we're getting full of gapers/snowboards wearing such baggy expensive outerwear), so overall i'm quite satisfied with my purchase, the only down things are that sometimes they can be slightly cold and kind of tying when i wear them too low...

all this just to say: try a pair or two and if you feel good in them just get them, it's up to whatever you like, that's the fun part of freedom that freesking allows us

Its kind of like in a video game, you see. You have to complete a run through the park without hitting a single feature, but doing at least 10 different taps throughout the run. Then you have to complete another run with 3 hits and at least 1800 degrees of spinnage without repeating a trick. This lets you unlock the tight pants.

Yo man do whatever that is comfortable to you. Dont go by the mainstream trend. Do what you think is stylish and looks cool to you. Caring about what you are wearing half the time will make you spend meaningless money on clothes that you will want other people to think you are "cool".

I cant seem to find the legs in this picture. They are certainly not on the body of that small boy.

Well you dont even know me.

and I combined a yes with a no, in a negative sentence, therefore negating any type of statement whatsoever. but i was too lazy to change it.

tight, loose, whatever is funnest. do it.

why? to keep everyone looking the same? how lame.

thrift store -> $20 dollar ski pants -> turn inside out -> trace tightness you want -> straight stitch -> try on -> fix or stitch over with cross stitch

For the love of god....you post in EVERY thread!
Please stop taking pictures of you and your brother playing dress up...it's creepy man. You're wayyyy too caught up in the "fashion" aspect of this sport.
I can't quite put my finger on the exact "whys" but you really annoy the shit out of me for some reason. So much so, that I felt the need to let you know in two threads.

again with the fucking picture?

no one gives a shit about your dad's pants that he bought back in the day. stop fucking posting and go do something meaningful with your life for Christ's sake.

besides, you look like a douche in those. you're too skinny and those just look simply retarded sagged that low. pull up your pants like a normal person.

but they're going to look odd pulled over boots, or do you tuck them in?
i usually go for the fat look everywhere so i might as well go for the fat look on the hill too! would be interesting to see some style progression with the tight look - you could end up looking as fly as a racer!

Unwarranted call out.

Welcome to Newschoolers. A community for a very consumer-oriented sport. It is based, mostly, around users posting threads, photos, and videos, but we can all agree that the forum is the most used function of this website. in case you don't know, the entire point of a forum is to post your opinion on a relevant topic. I can't say that all of my posted opinions have been relevant, but your claim that I "post in ever single thread is stupid" I have only been here for 13 months, and have 5000 posts. that comes out to, give or take, 12 posts a day. You have been here for 3 months, and have 1500 posts. that averages out to 16 posts a day. no one is calling you out for over posting. That is how a forum works. If you don't like it, then leave.

or you could rant like a 10 year old. If you have a legitimate problem with me, than go at it.

This is the 3rd or fourth time that you have called me out because "I annoy you for some reason"

That's a pretty good reason, I guess.

Now I will ask you if my post was out of place.

Let's look at the thread that I posted in. It's a discussion about tight pants. So answer me, why would anyone post a picture of a pair of skinny snowpants?

get of your high horse, take a look around you, and try and understand that it is stupid to call someone out for being "wayyyy too caught up" in talking about skiing on a skiing website. You are,of course, entitled to your own opinion, but showing it through a personal attack is not the best way to go around doing it.

You need to look at my join date again. Furthermore, the fact that you attempted to calculate my "post per day" average is a prime example of your shameless douchebaggery— nevermind the fact that you somehow managed to fuck it up. I'm sorry man...you just suck.
I didn't read beyond that, because frankly I don't care what you have to say, and I've read enough of your posts to know that there's rarely anything of value. Your posts essentially amount to you shamelessly bumping your post count, talking about clothing, and finding opportunities to play dress up midsummer.
The bottom line is that I know a lame when I see one, and you sir are a lame. You just try too hard.

Well i wear slim pants when i skateboard (not tight) and a faggit little rollerblader tried to tell me i was gay cause i was wearing "girl" pants haha whatever. It was pretty funny though.

last year i wore holdens for about half the season, which are already slim, then i got them sewn in, and ther dope. and whoever says they arnt warm is lying, ive never been so hot in a pair of snow pants, i got so sweaty in them. so that part blowed lol. But, for this season i bought a pair of super baggy pants, now i have a pair of tight and a pair of thuggin pants, gonna switch it up every once in a while. all in all..tight is pretty sweet, id hate to say it but i think they look better on snowboarders cuz they dnt move ther legs around as much, but still dope.

Do it especially if you wear tight pants off the hillbut if you don't have the ski style to go with it you might look a little funny at first. (like if you're still trying to be thug)I wear Airblaster or taken in northface pants when I ride and it definitely makes you stand out in a crowd.
as for taking them in I know there's a thread on NS somewhere that shows you how to do itBut if you can't find it PM me and ill help you out.

thats also Airblaster they make super thin pantsBut a lot of people who rock tight pants make them that way themselves so they're just regular ski pants.

i'm homeschooled. don't even touch my math skills.

550/13 months= 423 posts per month. 423/30 days in a month= 14.1 posts per day.

1550/3 months = 516 post per month. 516/30 days in a month = 17.2 posts per day.

if by "fuck it up" you meant missing a number by 2, then yes i did, but you still post more than i do. at this rate, in 10 months, you will have 6700 posts. go ahead and try to tell me that every single one of those will be gloriously edifying to this community. you have already wasted 3 posts calling me out. that sure was worthwhile, seeing as this is the internet and i have complete anonymity. as i said before, you are entitled to your own opinion, but why do you have to air it in the form of a personal attack? it seems much more taxing to hit the reply button, then to simply close out of the thread, and i'm sure you have much more important things to do.

No you moron...I joined LAST YEAR. I don't know why you think I joined 3 months ago, I joined before you did.
Just stop, you're making a fool of yourself,

bump....tight pants doesnt mean your having more fun i wear tight pants off the hill now i might take an older pair of pants to have a slim and baggy fit pants wear what you want

You're making way too big of a deal out of this. You post too much of a stupid photo looking like a tool, that nobody really cares about. That's all there is to it. A couple times is fine, but it's apparently getting annoying. I don't know what to say, you're kind of an idiot. And that math shit...fail.

like tights?I wear tight jeans everyday and they are super comfortableand unlike baggy pants, skinny pants don't make me appear to be impersonating an African American

no not tights actual jeans. but those were really tight and they were girl jeans so yeah mabeye you found some comfy ones i just think they look/feel a little odd but thats just me
