If you were there today and know the mountain from past experience, are the lift lines always that crazy on the weekends? I was there at 9 this morning and ended up getting 3 runs by 2 o'clock and finally just gave up. Is this normal, or was that a really heavy day?

usally its not that bad... the tram may be allitle wait sometimes but the chairs are usally pretty good... sometimes on holiday weekends it can get allitle busy but its never been like that for me..

i guess they had almost 20 inches this past weekend... shoulda gone up..

that's redic, i've never had to wait in lines that long, glad i didn't go up today! was the flyer down or something? should've jsut gone in the singles line

ya, it was like that only cause some other lifts shut down due to wind or ice. all their lifts are slow so it is a mess when lifts shut down like that.

i ahve seen more people at Jay this year then ever before and if some lifts shut down they can get even worse

For the Tram it was about an hour in line, and about 20 minutes to the top...

For all the other lifts I'd say ti was about a 20-30 minute line.

Let me put it this way. I showed up at 9:30 and by 2 o'clock I had clocked 3 runs (I did take a thirty minute lunch break).

At 2:00, with the Tram line still an hour long I decided it wasn't worth staying. In the time it took me to drive home to Stowe, I calculated I would have just offloaded the Tram at Jay.

I've decided to go Sunday and Monday, Say what's up if you see me on the hill. Have a happy easter everyone.

yo first of all, the tram ride to the top is only 6.5 minutes. and if u use the sngles line, it goes somewhat quicker so just be chill. if u want high speed lifts worse skiing, go to okemo or stratton.

before they put in the freezer the old lift was like hell

hey. i hate waiting too, but sometimes it is the only option.

i dont think jay really gives a shit what we think as customers, they have unique terrain and i feel like they adopt a "take it or leave it" attitude.... what did you guys think of the bathrooms there... wow. and they had the flyer down on easterweekend for some reason.... that was wack. i still love going there but if you want something catered more towards customer service i think southern vermont is way better.

Then stay in southern vermont! the flyer was probably closed because there was 25-30 mph winds anyone who has ridden that lift knows that it sucks for wind. Just stay on the jet triple and ski timbuktu all day.

not tryina sound like a bitch BUT, I was there fri-sun and got about 12 runs on the face.....try hiking, more runs, good workout, and your not standing/sitting around freezing your balls off in a line or on a lift.

o ya and the tram was completely shut down friday and sunday i skied half a day so saturday i prob got about 6-7 runs on the face

the flyer had ice all over the cables which is why it wasn't open saturday and most of sunday. the tram line was a bit too long for my liking on saturday so we skied other really good terrain. we hiked valhalla earlier in the day before the tram was open so we got our freshies, jay can still be a lot of fun even when the upper mtn lifts aren't open

I was there all weekend and yeah that was worse then normal but for many reasons.

1) Wind: the freezer stayed down all day and tram was on loading intermitently. Each load was about double the time to the top as well because of the cabin sway. I saw it sitting halfway up stalled for the entire length of a ride up the bonnie. Remember, the day before all they could open was the metro and village chairs.

2) holiday weekend: there were way more tourists them usual at the mountain.

3) snow: the word snow draws a crowd no matter when it happens.

All that said we still did about 8 laps before taking off to do some touring on saturday. Should have stuck around till sunday, it was ski on lifts every lap.
