Im coming to aspen for a week from february 27 to the following friday. IM gonna be skiing at all 4 mountains and i wanted to know what to hit other than park skiing. IM looking to find some sick cliffs and tree skiing. And on the park note....do any parks have wallrides. Im assuming the rails are sick but what are the best ones to hit??

PEACE

i've gone to snowmass for a week in the spring for last 6 years. its super sick. its hard to pull yourself away from the sick ass 2 mile long buttermilk park but if you want dope all mountain riding go to snowmass mountian. real good bowls and shit. They have a ton of real wide runs with trees and tons of little kickers. its the funnest mountain i've ever riden. you'll love it.

rails = buttermilk

jumps = snowmass

cliffs = DONT GO TO HIGHLAND BOWL... too tracked out, if you can actually ski, go to snowmass. Go to the burn lift, traverse skiers right as possible and follow the tree line, enter Rock Garden, (look on a trail map) it is not too tracked and if you can find the traverse, which goes left from the enterance you will find cliffs from 10-60 feet that are doable... that is where 90% of the skier magazine pics with aspen cliff shots are taken. with powder, you cant beat this place...

at snowmass, it's rock island, not rock garden. also go to high alpine chair and go left, you can either hike the wall (like 5 mins) or ski to possible, baby ruth or the glades. all that is great and there is an abundance of cliffs all around.

ya, snowmass is the place to be... the headwall on high alpine is fun, then go the skiiers right on the run out for more hot shit. and highlands bowl is sick, i would definitely reccomend hitting that up, it's a good experience.

snowmass park is super fun too, it's by far the best overall mountain of the four. it's my favorite mountain in the state.

Snowmass is damn good but I will still have to stick to the Highlands Bowl! If you go up to the Serque at snomass I am sure you will be able to find some cornices and cliffs to drop.

(I am not a Aspen kid but we go there just about every 3 day weekend)

highlands bowl is worth the hike, just to be able to ski 1500 feet of 50 degrees. Hanging Valley at snowmass also is a good bet for all things steep. And if you are coming from out east, dont even bother with the park, its huge and amazing, but you can ski park at home, you cant ski steeps

O yes, you can ski backcountry is syracuse ny

'me and my girlfriend were going at it the other night and she was on top and we were bonin hard, and my dick slipped out between thrusts and went up her ass. she screamed and cried for 45 minutes, it sucked.' -skiflake

if there is some new pow, like a foot, and its sunny the highlands bowl is sick. But that doesnt happen too much, and when it does, you and every other ski bum in all of aspen will be going there, so you have to be early. But almost no body goes in Rock Island at Snowmass, that whole cliff face is sketchy and most people just dont go there... and nope no wallrides so far, although i know they kept the poorboyz wall, so it might be put up later... the tetor toter rail isnt up yet either..

so if i go to rock island i will be able to find a ton of cliffs.... You are saying just go there for cliffs other than highland bowl, and how long is the hike for highland bowl?

Thanks fellas

rock island = cliffs

highland bowl = takes like an hour, but it depends on how fast you go

park - no wallrides...yet, the buttermilk pipe/rails are sick, and snowmass rails and jumps are good.

When you're at snowmass you might wanna ride the poma above the sheer bliss

lift and drop off at the traverse to Gowdy's. The cornice at the top runs 10' or > and

it's a pretty steep landing with a clear run out. Conditions are great right now and

we're expecting snow this weekend. Last year an instuctor poached Gowdys on

a powder day with friends. Didn't know patrolers were there with bombs getting

ready to shoot it. He got his 15' of fame in the local papers.
