To all the vegans

im vegan, but i dont do it because i dissagree with the killing of animals, i do it becuase, meat is bad for you, human kind was born herbavoirs, the body was not disigned to digest meat, i have dont alot of tudy into this, and thats what i took from it. Im not saying your wrong to eat meat, Im just not going to do it, and i went from eating alot of meat to eating none. On a side note, to the people who tell people who choose to be vegan that it is wrong and supid, fuck you

meat eaters are all right as long as they're not like "HEY LOOK AT ME I EAT MEAT BECAUSE I'M THE BEST. ALL YOU VEGGIES ARE IDIOTS, HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITHOUT MEAT, FUCKERS." or better yet, as long as they're definatly not like "screw you. I am enjoying a new york strip while i type this. And why the hell would a vegan couple starve their own child. Meat is awesome"

im not vegitarean idiot, you dont know me!

go fuck yourself, what do you want me to say instead of slaughter if thats such an abused word

Vegans who rip on meat, fuck you. Meat eaters who rip on vegans, youre dumb. Personally, I LOVE meat. I went to a bbq today and it was delicious. But, recently I have been trying to cut down on my red meat especially. Cattle is TERRIBLE for the environment. I could care less about slaughterhouses, i mean animals die every day, the cattle were going to die eventually. But, the amount of fertilizer run off, methane emission, and the amount of land that is degraded is wayyyy more than most of you guys ever even considered. I took a class that discussed this issue, and you put in around ten times the amount of energy that you get out of cattle. With chicken and other animals, they are much more efficient (poor word choice i know). Also, red meat is not good for you if you eat too much. I completely disagree with people who say meat is bad for you flat out, because htey are wrong. But, too much red meat is bad for you. Don't get me wrong, i LOVE a great steak, but i think lessening your red meat consumption is a good thing

i could never resist the sensation of sinking my teeth into a medium cooked peppersteak...

hate to face the facts but veggies are good for you...and someone who eats nothing but shit like me needs veggies

If you don't eat meat because you don't like how it tastes, thats cool with me. If you dont eat meat because its cruel, well then you can go and die from malnutrition. I would greatly enjoy shooting you just like i shoot my deer, and Im all for PETA- People Eating Tasty Animals. Fuck You vegans.

Have you ever seen a cow roaming in the wild? if it weren't for slaughterhouses and some asian countries the cow would be extinct, so thank god for meat eaters, they produce countless lives every day

im just going to take this opportunity to point out that VEGANS and VEGETARIANS are different.

vegans dont eat anything that comes from animals at all. not eggs, not milk. they eat NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS WHATSOEVER.

vegetarians just dont eat meat.

ok now that that is cleared up...

i was once a vegetarian but not based on animal rights principles, moreso because i had a friend who turned veggie on me and she said she felt GREAT. so i tried. it didnt really work for me because i couldnt fight the meat cravings but for some its a great diet and others not so much. to the guy who said humans were born herbavors..this is true if one believes in evolution, which i do. at first we were herbavors, but as our jaws and our capacity to build tools evolved we were capable to hunt and eat meats because we could cut it up and chew it.

according to the darwins theory if we never ate meat we would be small little creatures that look like that sceleton lucy. without meat in the beginning we wouldnt be skiing or living in houses

ummmm, yeah, yeah it is... we have canines, the enzymes necessary to digest and assimilate protein from meat... we do it rather well, and meat is extremely good for us, it allows us to get ready made proteins and amino acids...

we're omnivores: we can eat essentially everything...

dude. not to be a bitch, but you just described the opposite of darwin's theory of natural selection.

basically, what i described in my other post, is exactly derrived from darwin's theory. now, at first, we were not meat eaters. we didnt have the ability to do such and we werent built in such a manner...but according to darwin, and anthropologists of the 20th century, natural selection preferred the following important traits: bigger skull for bigger brain, teeth...the teeth give away the most about our ancestor's eating ability and habbits.our jaws became smaller and faces became smaller.

we evolved into intellectual creatures who EVENTUALLY though NOT INITIALLY could hunt and consume meat. how did they theorize all of this? and how have they concluded that we were once veggies? by examining the important traits above. those traits were at one time, lesser, but according to darwin, natural selection allowed for those traits to evolve so that our species would survive and adapt.

now, to address your reference to "lucy".. lucy was an australopithecus. australopithecus are not related to us. this is because they existed at the same time as homo habilis..who are OUR DIRECT ancestors. a lot of anthropologists dont agree on many things..but one thing they do agree on is that homo habilis is our direct ancestor..and that the australopithecus line became extinct about 1 million years ago. the problem with this is that australopithecus is in a sense our oldest ancestor, but they continued to exist (australopithecus africanus, robustus etc.) at the same time as the homo habilis and almost the same as homo erectus. so around about 4 million years ago..our lineage split and we continued on the path of homo habilis, whereas the australopithecines continued as they were. this means that somewhere along the line, "natural selection" allowed our ancestor homo habilis to form OUT of the australopithecus...but it is the australopithecus species that was rejected. so in a sense, what you're saying is that we might all be like lucy if we were once veggies. well, no...because of natural selection, we arent like lucy, we evolved OUT of veggies. but we were still, at one point, veggies. which is the whole point i was trying to make earlier.

you want to know when we started hunting and eating meat?

well, we'll say about 3 million years ago we were eating seeds, nuts, and the like. it was only 2.5 million years ago that we even made our first tools, so we werent out hunting and eating meat until then, we werent capable of it. the first tools we ever made were small flake tools. the tool is about 4-5 inches long..what they could do with it, was slice up smaller animals..but it wasnt until abouuuut 2 million years ago (homo habilis) that we started to chew meat. all of this happened at the same time our jaws and faces started to reduce in size and our brains expanded in size. so after thousands of years of using tools, we were finally able to cut up, and chew meat thanks to "natural selection" according to darwin.

hope that all makes sense to you now.

of course, did that need to be said? Oh, wait... we forgot that this is of course all packed inside a Cornish game hen inside a chicken inside a turkey, with a friggin salmon slapped on top and broiled.

yeah thats what i wanted to say... ppl need meat, well there are replacements but in the overral its just a part of life...

Dude, cmon, who the fuck cares how you eat, i mean my ex was a vegetarian, (i didnt dump her cuz she wont eat meat) i dumped her cuz she snowboarded. Ya know what im sayin?

A MIND IS LIKE A PARACHUTE, IT WORKS BETTER IF IT'S OPEN

WUTANG MUTHERphuckers!

-=J@CK=

I never knew that stuff about the australopithecus... are you the person who is studying anthropology?

just a hunch :P

haha, well i am currently studying a bit of anthropology. i have only taken two different courses at my university. but its not my major. but also, i have two relatives in my family who have PhDs in anthropology so i have the privelege of learning a lot with them around!

go on...

are you going to mention how they prepare veal??

when the newboarn calf is born they tape it down so it cant move (so the muscles dont develop) and its entire life it does nothin but just get fed there, imobile. Then it gets laughtered, so we can eat nice tastey veal.

From some of the stuff i have hurd recently and in this thread, i may want to become almost veggie, but i cant give uo meat. So maybe i'll just cut back alot on select meat products.

both my mom and step dad are vegatarian, so i am half of the time, and i do not feel starved or slighted at all

dont get me wrong, i still love meat though
