To all seniors in HS and anyone in College

to the two of you who said you go to lehigh, do you guys ski blue or bear creek at all? i live 10 minutes from blue so i am there all the time over winter break. gimme a message sometime if you wanna meet up.

i am a junior at lasalle u in philly, digital art major, and i think its a lot of fun so far.

it makes perfect sense to call a major pre-med...they have to take the harder classes as a bio major and take a few extra so they can fulfil the requirements to get into med school.

Freshman at Carroll College and majoring in Graphic Communications - Print Management. It is nice if you want to go into graphic design and are good at it because our school is linked with Quad Graphics. the second biggest printing company in the world. Plus Quad Graphics is 5 miles away from the school.

I'm a first year at University of California Davis doing film studies with an emphasis in production.

im a junior psychology major at desales university (which is pretty much in the middle of nowhere) with a concentration in dance.

Senior at Pepperdine University, sports medicine.

I'll chime in on the pre-med argument, I think it's a legit name because it tells people what classes you're taking. I for one hate the name of my major, everybody thinks I'm studying to be a trainer. I don't know too many trainers that could tell you the attachment sites for every muscle in the body. I've been tempted to call myself pre-med, because I take the classes, though I plan to become a PA not a MD.

I'm a freshman at the university of pittsburgh. I'm a Biology major with a minor in Chemistry and getting a certificate in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine.

Im a freshman at the University of Montana. I am thinking of majoring in Anthropology or Communications. BUT, my insane Acting teacher is trying to convince me to switch my major to Acting. so i'm considering that. weird.

University of Colorado at BOulder

Leeds School of Business

Marketing major with application in entrepreneurial and small business studies and possibly real estate.

why the fuck does this matter? now you cant even pick your life out and you need NS to make the life long decision for you?

ya actually that did occur to me and you know what, ive come to realize that it is not what others do but in fact what i do with my life.

so why does he care or why do i care what all you schmuks are doing for a career. i mean there arent that many majors in the world so someone has to be doing 1 of each somewhere in the world.

its called looking at the big picture.

i can as easily go to a book and look at majors and what the agenda will be for that major.

I'm studying for a BEng in Aerospace Engineering at University of Wales Swansea. I may do a Masters Pot Grad at Manchester University once I'm done here.

its pointless to get a masters in engineering. you get nothing out of it. the only good majors to get ur masters are teaching and doctors

Was looking into some Engineering schools out west and im thinking of going into some kind of a science and/or technology major, still a little undecided. Senior JBHS High School

Or Business, or accounting, or lots of other things. My dad's got his masters in accounting and he's been the VP of universities and VSAC now. Not useless.

so who said he needed a masters to get that position?

most of the masters u get will not help to get better pay, thats what i meant when i said useless.

sure there are some majors but for the most part the majority of masters are not helpful in determining a pay increase.

alot of schools wont even hire you as a teacher with a masters becasue they have to pay more. so if u go to school and get a bachelors. become a teacher and then go get ur masters, the school HAS to pay you more for the masters.

In order to get the VP position's he has held, he said he would only have gotten them with the masters. The last two he interviewed at, Allegheny and Seattle University, he said they only considered applicants with masters or higher for the interview. I don't know if it's common practice, but that's what they told him in the interview. I had the same question as you, the 'did you need the masters to get the position', as we were discussing college and such at the time, and that's what he told me.

well yeah agree with certain jobs but i hear alot of jobs wont give u shit for a masters. so always find out for ur major before u waste another 2 years of ur life

holocaust studies...that sounds really interesting..ill have to look into that.
