My question is, to clean up the acts on NS, why haven't you guys utilized IP banning for all the flamers in the forums? This place would be a lot better if all flamers got banned, even for 1 week or so to get the message across. If they flame again they get banned for a year and so on.

I could careless if they IP ban me. It would probably do me a favor. But in all seriousness I have contributed more positive threads than most. I am a long time member and have NEVER been warned or moderated before. So I don;t think they would IP ban me :-) nice try tho.

Gallant seems to think that "flamer" is the same as "kid who pokes fun at him". Actually, that is just people on the internet.

Just to confirm, nobody freak out, the world is not in the process of imploding, teasing people is still allowed on newschoolers.com. We generally try to diminish the practice of internet-tough-guy syndrome, also known as spewing hate just for the sake of feeling powerful (o hai cobracommander). But that doesn't mean the purpose of moderation is to somehow transform this place into 100% rainbows and unicorns and care bears all the time. That's not realistic and it'd kind of suck, because sometimes people are legitimately pissed off and want to vent about it. For example, Gallant seems to be kind of pissy right now.

If you have... how do the kids put it... the "beef" with somebody, you can call them out and trash talk all you like, just don't cross the line. "Oh but JD where's the line"? Shut the fuck up, you know where the line is.
 
NS is just like real life. There are bound to be assholes and doucehbags.

You just need to learn to ignore them and carry on with your life.
