I dont' mind them because I'm not in school anymore. But I wouldn't be surprised if NS is loosing money by using First Drop ads, with the amount of people that have installed Adblocker directly because of it.
 
I stick by my conviction firmly. We would lose more money by allowing ourselves to be as lame as a tiny amount of people want us to be.

Don't use ad blocker either - that hurts NS too. Let the ads roll and just realize that ads like that at school won't get you in more trouble than generally browsing NS. That is completely flawed logic.

 
A free period at school can be used for pretty much anything, they won't mid if they see me watching a ski edit or what not. But I'm pretttty sure if an adult at school sees a girl rubbing her tits that kinda crosses the line?
 
Allowing these FD ads, doesn't make this website any "cooler". I think it's dope that you allow pretty much anything to be posted in the forums, but for a kid in school with a free period (^) they should be able to just browse NS (not forums) without seeing anything NSFW. People come on here to learn about skiing, it's a resource. It'd be like going onto ESPN.com and seeing half naked girls popping up.

I don't use ad blocker because I know it hurts NS, but I'm sure once these ads have started showing up on the Home page and news pages of NS- more and more kids have been installing ad blockers. Hell, there's even links to download Ad blocker for firefox, chrome, etc. in this thread. Again, I don't care much because I'm not in school anymore, but I could see why people want it to go

Okay... I don't know if Canadian schools are much different than them here in the States, but a girl touching her breasts is pretty awkward/ridiculous. It's not just the teachers, it's also the mean mugs from lower classmen girls I get in the Media Center (library)... Although it is pretty funny.

true, I'm really not much older than you. maybe 5 years older. but when I was that age and just graduating high school I though I was grown up and mature. since then I've realized I really was no where close to grown up. Even a year after you graduate and you'll realize that.

Well, we're different here in Canada because you can't buy Handguns period. As someone else said, shotguns/rifles are for hunting, whereas pistols are to conceal them on your person and kill humans.

I'm all about guns, and I think that parents should educate their kids on proper gun usage. Respect for a gun makes a gun completely safe.

I do not disagree with a lack of ability to get a handgun though. Concealed guns can make a situation escalate too quickly.

That is a totally separate issue. If handguns were to be legal here, I would think its stupid to have a cut off of 18 and 21. If you don't want to treat an 18 year old like an adult, then don't make them an adult. Pick your 'adult' cut-off age and stick with it.

I mean again... at 18 can star in porno, vote, go to war and be armed with many pistols... but can't buy one at home where its legal to have one? Bullshit.

If society picks an adult age they should stick with it. Parents should teach their kids to be good people, and adults should take responsibility for their own actions.

Well you're wrong, I have shot a handgun before. As for hunting ya you can hunt small game with them, but thee are a lot of people out there hunting big game with handguns because they want more of a challenge. They hunt everything from deer to bears.

Can we please not make this a hunting thread? Rifles are for dear. Shotguns are for birds and small game as well as rifles for rabbits and shit.

Nobody but very experienced hunters shoot with a pistol.
 
You said "you cant hunt with a pistol". All I did was point out that was a false statement and that you can hunt almost all game with one. If you think otherwise you are either extremely ignorant or know absolutely nothing about hunting.

Dude, why would you honestly hunt large game with a pistol? Do you know how far you have to be from most large game to shoot them without smelling you? Good luck hitting them from that far, and it won't just take 1 bullet.

I mean shooting a pistol at a mole tunneling through your yard would be pretty fun(funny too).
