Tips on front flips

I tried one a couple weeks ago, had no course of action planned so I just threw it. Was peaceful for a couple seconds, then the reality of being a shitty skier crashed down on me as I slammed into the snow. I'd recommend trying one as soon as possible.

Yes and no.Easier in the sense that it is MUCH easier to commit to. 'Cause a backflip makes you blind at takeoff, whereas in a frontflip you can spot in front at takeoff. Backflips are much more scary.

But backflips are easier 'cause you can spot your landing a little after halfway through.

But I guess easier because you will be more likely to commit than on a backflip (or at least most people will).

Front flips are harder to land but less scary to throw, backflips are easy to land scary to throw, with a front flip load the tips of your skis right before take off and it does most of the flip for you.

^just by watching that you can see what happens if you don't load your front tips , almost wanna start flipping before your in the air. Like a nose butter on the lip.

this. but dont do it too soon (also me):

i went back a week later and almost got them on the same jump. i still dont know how to pop tho...

stagger your feet and when you throw it go up & out then tuck. dont throw straight down. if it would help try doing handsprings off a knuckle before going for the actual flip

That was fucking hilarious ahah!

OP just commit tuck your body in and use your arms to amlost throw yourself around- forget those skis are there just you're on a trampoline. You might land a bit backseat the first time but once you've done one- however sketchy that one may be- you'll be good!

Fronts r my trick. All u want to do is get them down on a tramp really well then go try it off a medium size powder jump, then park. Also when I'm focusing on trying a new trick on skis I go to the gym and do the same trick on a tramp over and over again til i dont even have to think about it.

I personally try to focus on kicking back my leg(I prefer my left) on the take-off to get the proper momentum. I lean, kick, tuck, open up, and hopefully stomp it. It can be sketchy since you go totally blind with your head in your crotch if you're hucking hard.

be comfortable doing it on a trampoline

straight air the kicker at least twice to judge how long you'll have in the air

go for it. wear spine protection (to help your confidence as much as protection)

huck, look, open, stomp, afterbang, profit, sex

if in trouble, tuck for double

learn em off a roller not a jump with a lip. i did a few where i put my hands down to get used to bringing my tails under me, and than just approach it a bit faster and tuck your chin and dont put your hands down. it also helps to rock back on your tails before you lean foward and send it

i just landed these this past weekend, really, if you can do a front off of a diving board or a trampoline, you can do it off a jump. i would highly suggest going off a jump and not a roller though because you will have more air time off a jump, just my thoughts.

I learned them three weeks ago, and since then I have put about 30+ to my feet on a variety of different size and style jumps. They are super easy once you get the hang of it.

1. Make sure you have enough speed. A lot of the time when learning inverts I find that I slow down on the inrun too much because I am focused on the trick. Don't do this.

2. When you flip, try and go right over the front of your tips, and not off to the side. You should think about loading your tips a little, like your buttering.

3. Keep your body tucked. Even if you under rotate, you'll still probably land on your skis, but keep tucked up anyway. You don't have to throw particularly hard on anything over about 10 feet. My buddy who taught me explained it like running and doing a front flip into a pool. You don't really huck it, you just kinda lean over your tips and flip.

I think they are actually easier than backies, but that's just me.

mini frontflip...which is usually off the knuckle of a jump or mound of snow: u want to stagger ur feet a little and before u get any air time, u want to pick up the front ski, toss it behind u and pretty much eat ur dick. if u do it too late, youll end up on ur back. and try to avoid popping because if u do that u wont have enough airtime to completely come back around.

frontflip off of a jump: just go for it...

haha yes i agree l love watching my friend have his feet together and not staggered i find myself throwing the flip mainly with my torso and legs. swinging one around like a pendulum and popping off with the other then as SteezMaster24 says "eat your dick" or tuck up whatever floats your boat. its spotting the landing that is tricky look off to the side out of the corner of your eye and you'll see if you need to open up or stay tucked... good luck hope this helps

get on a trampoline if not

backflip, lean back bro kick legs over spot landing

frontflip so easy you can do em off rollers.

just throw your arms down with the somersault motion, open up after your 3/4 through and your skiss will help you.

Really make sure you pop. My first few fronts where i didn't pop (but still stayed tucked) i landed on my back. Also, make sure to go a little faster than you usually would.
