Tips for Wild Mountain

I think if wild mountain put 2 picnic tables at the top of their park, and got an outdoor sound system, theyre park would be soooooo much better, and even though the s rail is sweet, i think they should get a c box so people that cant do the s rail can get better at sliding a curve. Jus my 2 cents after a spring break vacation to tremblant

wild should totally ditch the 1/2 pipe in but instead use that space for more rails/hits. keep the 1/4 pipe

 
Andy here from Wild. Thanks for the input, any new tips and suggestions are totally cool, because the more minds thinking about new innovation stuff the better. We are thinking about the sound system thing, but copyright laws on tunes can be a sticky situation. Also waterproofing the whole thing is also somewhat difficult. Our pipe did suffer a ton this season, mainly because of our grooming schedule. Our maintainance staff can not be in two places at once. The suggestion about ditching our pipe is something I will bring up this summer and fall. I know several places do not even have pipes and most riders dig jibs and hits more than the pipe. Thanks again!!

 
i dont htink that you guys should lose the pipe if you are able to maintain it a lot better. pipe is one of my favorite things to ride and if you guys lost that it would suck. i dont remember to good but isnt there some room to the right of the pipe for some nice jibs and such.

one more thing is a small wall ride. i know you probably wont get one but when i was out at keystone they ahd a small one and it was the most fun feature for me. you guys would be the only place around with one and it would be a sure hit!

 
i thought it was a tall pipe considering there wasn't much of an in-run. the walls were also pretty close together.

 
just build a fucking in run for the pipe, sorry but its pretty much impossible to boost out of that thing when there is no where to get speed, the condition wasnt even that bad its just pointless with no speed

im just gunna thorw this out there and these are my feelings you dont have to beleive them but this is what i expirenced on the times that i have been at wild.

^^ now thats a good suggestion right there...im not a local at wild but when i go up that park seems so incredibly crammed with people...and 2 parks would definatly seperate and such because some people would like features in one than the other....and yeah i beleive as "1260" said spirits pipe was way bigger but it was SOO nice

 
Well, its nice to see things are even being considered, I think a totaly seperet jib park like where the pipe is, would be cool. I also think if at all possible get more possible rails, I know there all possible for snowboarders but I tried the flat down flat, and the whole thing just doesnt flow for skis. But im still SUPER excided to hit the S more

 
Oh and have more freeski comps, snowboarders suck, and screw 2 what 20 footers, have a nice big one in there somewhere

anyway, you guys should definitly move the pipe (i dunno where a better place would be), my friend can boost out of it, but he has to pretty much bomb 1/2 way down and drop in there to actually be able 2 get some decent air in it, and then by that time he only has enough space to get one decent hit in. if you dont tho, i think on the right you guys could put at least 2-3 more features.

get more boxs, like welch has, like a c box, dragon rail, then I garuntee more people would go to wild probably double

 
yeah, i think a curved box would be really sweet. or afton got a 3 section box last year that they were switching between up-flat-down, down-flat-down and the like, it was pretty sweet.

im gonna have to second turning the pipe in to a second park. i remember dropping in on it and getting about halfway up the wall. more stuff in the beginner park would be cool too.

 
I may have said this before, but I will say it again. I have been pitching the moving of the pipe ever since I got to Wild. I will try and sell the concept this fall. This off-season we hope to build several new rails and tweak all of our old gear so we have a killer year. New fresh ideas are great, keep them coming. no kidding, i mean yeah i like wild's food wayy better then afton or troll, but yeah i agree with lower the prices deal. BUT if you have to reduce quality cause u reduce prices, keep the pricing, id rather have the quality.

they had the beginnings of a freeski instructional program near the end of last season. a guy i met there (who usually gives normal lessons) started taking kids into the park and giving them park lessons. maybe it will devlop into a team, that would be sick.

I think a lot of areas are having a d ski team now. I dont know how good it will be. Unless a lot of good riders from around the cities join it, it will be a wash. It would be tight though if we all joined at our home resort and traveled around having comps against the other areas. I just dont think enough talent will join in.

 
I might join the team next year.

The best person ever to go to wild moved away last year, up to the UMD. He's my hero. His bro still goes to Stillwater.

i agree about the lack of talent showing up for it.
 
Andy when are you comin back to wild? havent heard from you in a while.

Anyways....Lots of brainstorming is going down at wild. Aaron is got lots on his mind and we are keepin on his toes. Just be ready...cause once we got the snow, its goin down. you guys will be AMAZED. NO lie.

haha, holy shit this was a while back, wilds definetly stepped it up, i hear on the grape vine theyre working on a c and rainbow box, and lots of new rails...could be false though. And the jumps decent now, i havent hit it yet but me friends have and say its a lot nicer than last year
