Yeah, I'm not much of an expert either but google the rule of thirds and try to use it. Try to include some context, "guy in the sky" photos are usually not so good, other then that, what I do is go through previous photos of the day and look for inspiration, To be the best you have to learn from the best, look at their angles, how they frame the shot, and how they light it and that should give you some starting points. Goo d luck, shooting ski photos is pretty fun.
