Tips for rodeos

im thining about trying my first rodeo tomarrow. Im pretty sure i got how to throw my shoulders but any other tips would be appriciated. also would a misty be easier?

Think lincoln + 180. Left-side rodeo: Go for the lincoln rotation, but drop your left shoulder back. push your left elbow behind you and look over your left shoulder, and keep it tucked till you come around. It's kind of hard to explain for me.

i was told that a good way to go rodeo is to basicly throw a backflip but throw you left arm out

Rodeos used to be kind of an off axis back-180. Kind of like what most people are calling flat spins now. These day, people call all kinds of things rodeos. Anyway, I'm going to give you advice on how to throw one that is basically a hybrid between a back-180 and lincoln-180. That's my def of a rodeo. (Really, who cares what it's called as long as you enjoy doing it...)

Approach jump with feet should width apart. Sometimes it helps to have a mellow carve to the left. (If your spinning left) As you hit the lip, think of shifting your weight to your right side edges, sitting backseat, and jabbing your left elbow behind you. From there, just tuck it up and keep looking over your should. You will naturally come to 5. If you want to go 7 or higher, just keep looking.

If you want to do it more backflip style, just do the same thing with out popping of your edges as much and don't worry about sitting back seat. Throw it like a backflip but look over your shoulder so you go around the corner. You're going to still throw your elbow back but not as much as on the first one.

For lincoln style, throw straight to the side (your right if your spinning left) like you would for a normal lincoln. However, let your left shoulder drop back just a bit and look over that side. It will naturally take you to 5 right off.

For all three styles, if thrown correctly, you should be able to tuck and just wait for it to come around. The tighter your tuck, the faster your rotation. If your taking it more off-axis than straight over, your tuck will be extra important, as staying tight is what helps you get back upright. Good luck and let me know how it goes...
