Tips for hitting a rail switch?

I used to suck at riding and hitting rails switch and this video helped me the most. You really wanna turn your upper body as much as you can and this will really help with visibility and being patient when it's time to pop.

Which shoulder are you looking over, which foot is forward on the rail and which way do you want to spin?

you answered only one of the 3 questions he asked

I interpreted that as looking over left shoulder, left foot forward, spinning left.

Basically a switch lip from the left side of the rail (looking down it)

Op its scary at first, but the faster you go the easier it is (atleast for downrails it is). The farther down the rail you land means the greatest height difference between you landing and your take off point. This makes it easier to get your tips over. You dont have to disaster it but going a little faster could be the difference between clipping the rail and getting em over.

Its also important to lean back a little bit when you pop, that way when you pop you switch nollie a little bit and get those tips up and over the rail.

I like to do a few lip ons before I do switch lips when im skiing. I always concentrate on jumping forward and really getting my tails up and over the rail. Then you do switch lip and its basically the same thing but backwards.

Left Left Left could also be tails over though.

Sounds like OP hasnt really hit a rail switch yet. I dont know about you, but me and all my friends learned switch lip first. Switch tails is way scarier, IMO.

OP should really clarify though, his explanation was vague and his grammar sounded like it was translated using google.

Tails is way scarier, but if you have no clue, it would seem like that's the way to start. we need more details from DYLLXN when he gets out of school

learn to zero spin and then just do that onto the rail. hold your skis pointing uphill for as long as you can before doing the shifty to get perpendicular, and be ready to go back to fakie at the end of the rail. if youre catching a tip it just means youre trying to turn too early

i am having alot of trouble hitting a rail switch please help i always get on eski caught up and eat it

you need to learn how to sw 180 first and ski comfortablly switch. Once you have these downpat, its nothing.

Just remeber to point tails at end of rail, stagger feet (watch a jake muller tutorial for upper body positioning switch cause its the same thing)

Question after watching countless slvsh videos I still don't know the answer to: so sw tails is when your tails go over the rail first and sw lip is your tips. But going forward lip on is tails over first right?
