So back switch ups came pretty easy to me because you just hop and keep rotating but Frontsides are giving me more trouble. The momentum i get is weird, and i cross up my skis and fall....any help? plus k for legit answers..thanks!

just drop your heel a bit with your downhill foot, and then turn your shoulders and hop. you'll get it if you keep practicing.

1) dip heal on the downhill ski

2) once you start spinning ur desired direction hop and pick up ur downhill ski at the same time. (so u dont catch ur tail on the box or rail)

3) commit fully and pin the full 180 degrees.

4) slide the rest of the box or rail then land switch or of the box or rail

5) ur half way there to a k fed and or going pro

6) profit?????

i learned them on a flat box and then took them to other rails.. pick your downhill toe up so the edge of your ski is pressing on the corner of the rail.. push against it, jump, and turn your hips

to OP, try it on both boxes and rails, because this guy learned them on boxes but i actually thought it was easier to first learn them on flat rails

I find it helps to go into the box switch, then spin 90 in the direction you intend on doing a switch up. Otherwise you'll need to pretzel which is harder on boxes cuz you can't dig your heel as well.

its all about locking in and dropping your heel as much as possible. it took me a while but if you just keep practising getting locked in, turning you shoulders and then hopping it should come.

if you dig hard enough with your front heel, you should find that it brings you back to 50-50, because you are creating more friction on one side of the box. Once you can get this, just try and go with the momentum and rotate the full 180 to face the opposite way. Then all you need to do is pop once you're comfortable with the movement. hope this helps

make sure you stop your momentum before you try the switch upscissor, lift front foot, pop, lead with your shoulders to get your feet around but try and keep your eyes on the box/rail so you wont slip out when you land

go for it/commit.

1. approach the box or rail at a comfortable speed. I would suggest going slower than usual, this will give you more time on the rail.2. pop off the kicker and onto the box or rail. make sure you keep your feet shoulder width apart

3. tilt the heel of your leading ski towards the ground, grip the edge of the box or rail, and use it to shift your momentum.

4. If you do the first three steps right then your body should start to turn frontside. When this happens, pop into the air and turn 90 degrees. make sure you lead with your head and shoulders and your body will follow.

5. you will most likely land switch, so make sure you have a decent landing.
