i went to a welding shop and got them to weld me a rail with little bolt things that hang down and i can bolt on a wood base, it works great because i can change the height and shit. its also good for skating

i hear plexi glass slides well.

A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. 'Hear that?' you say. 'That's dynamite, baby.'

I am so lucky! My neighbour is a kind of 'rail-maker' he does everything with iron and metal.. What do you call these guys?

Personally, the worst thing I think you can do is make it shorter like 10 feet. Although it is harder to transport anything over 8 feet, you can connect whatever your making. So you should make a rail that is at least 16 feet. If your lookin to not spend a lot of money, just buy PVC and 8 feet 2x4s and connect.

if you want to make a 10 foot PVC rail, do this (you can make it pretty much any height you want):

-4 2x4's

-4 1/2 inch PVC pipes (make them hte same length as the 2x4's)

- wood screws

screw 4 pvc pipes into a 2x4 then just build hte frame

just by a couple of little pices of metal like 1 foot long and figure out wat slides the best and then get anuff of that tipe of rail and make and double bar rail and make it a kink thats 7 across and 14 down so u can do really tech tricks on it.

yeah im making a rail this summer, im just gunna make a frame of 4x4s and then cover it with sheet metal, its gunna be like 18 feet and be a flat to kink to flat. im making it so itll be super steady and stuff its gunna be lik 90$

if you follow my instructions....i made a rail just like that, 10' long, 1.5' high (beginner rail), it costs less than 20 bucks. its really nice. very strong too

Use something like metal or wood or PVC or rock or kryptonite or diamond. i've got a closet of diamond rods I am using to build a trap rail with. pretty indestructable. Use elmers or crazy glue or epoxy or sawdust to attach the pieces, don't ever drill or weld, that will leave big marks. make the rail accessible, here is a good design plan, coming from the left.

i got all the pvc i have from a construction site, and i took most of it in broad daylight, so for me the entire rail and set up were free, and mine is only like 15 feet but it is two seperate rails that i can make into a kink or just kind of a small drop from one to the other, it is pretty sweet

go to new buldings that havent been cleaned up yet from construction on sundays. you will always find shit laying around you can use such as pvc pipes, metal pipes, wood, and if you lucky an entire prewelded handrail that hasn't been set up yet, those are some clutch finds because all you need to do then is weld on some feet and youve got a handrail.

hit up construction sites on the weekends when no one is there or try going to some metal shops and ask if they have anything they are throwing out you never know what you can find. I'm gonna try to get some pipes from my uncle who is a metal worker but do any of you know what type of metal is best to use?

PVC, the pros and cons

-pros

-its cheap

-it doesnt destroy your edges

-its forgiving so its easy to learn shit on

-cons

-it can crack if its really cold out

-it just plain wears down after a while and will only last about a season

Metal, the pros and cons

-pros

-more types of rails can be created such as s,c, rainbow, and anything else curved

-it lasts forever

-its most likely what's down at your local park, so get used to it

-cons

-its expensive

-you need to weld it

-it tears apart your edges so it isnt so great for endless pracrice sessions

-it can rust if not made properly, or used enough which sucks huge balls

ok now you decide and stop annoying everybody with the questions about 'PVC or Metal?' (im speaking to everybody on this one)
