Tips for blind 2

Hey guys, I need to get over my fear with blind 2's. I can front 2 and 4 out , but I'm scared to spin blindly. Do you guys have any tips for me to get over my fearor just any tips for the trick itself

For me, I get by blind 2s around by continuing to turn my shoulders once I'm locked into the rail. You can use you edge by dipping your front toe to help with the spin as well. A mix of both will make sure it comes around. Trying it on a flat rail to begin will give you more time for the spin. As for being afraid, It won't get less scary until you do it. Maybe having a friend who can do them go and lace one up right before you try could help.

Ok! Thanks a lot for the tips

I didn't really get them down until I started consciously bending my knees and popping at the end of the rail while turning my head and shoulders.

When you're at the end of the rail, try to look over your shoulder (or at least the top of the rail) while continuing to turn them. Then throw your hips in the rotation a little and it'll come around naturally. You don't really need to jump, because if you do you might just end up spinning out too early and sniper tap the rail. It will feel like you spin too late, but don't worry you, will feel it come around when you are in the air. Don't be too fast, look where you're going, and wait for the end of the rail.

Visualize; see the whole thing in your head before dropping in. Aim your shoulders to where you wanna land before you reach the lip. At the lip, give a bigger pop than usual and once your skis have left the ground; initiate the rotations with the shoulders and hips. If this means you will be spinning unnatural, so be it. Its easier to learn to unnatural spin in than landing on the uncomfortable foot first.

By this time, I assume all went well, so you should see the rail entering the field of view. Extent your legs and spread the arms to stop rotation. Since the rail is now in plain view, its time to extent your legs and aim that rail. All the rest is easy.

I had issues that were the same as yours for the longest time with blind 270s, so here are my tips. The easiest rail to do it on would be tube, preferably a pretty wide one. don't worry too much about dropping your tip at first, you can just continue your momentum. It's really all in the shoulders. Once you get to the end of the rail, you have to consciously force the 270 around by popping and turning your whole upper body. Once you get good at them you can just do them lazily by pedaling them around and not even popping. You just look over your shoulder and sort of fall out of the rail and your feet will snap around. Overall blind 2's are pretty fluid. You don't need to focus too much on setting and winding up, just continue the momentum and you'll see what I mean once you land one. Good Luck

The big thing for me was to relax on the rail and let your rotation take you out to switch. Once you feel comfortable landing switch, then just focus on keeping your head level, pop at the end of the rail, and basically it should feel like a 180. Find a rail and hike it a bunch of times and commit to the last 180 and you got it.

Pedal your skis, pop at the end of the rail, turn your shoulders, and keep your weight forward. It's all about getting over fear, you got this homie

Adding onto Dan's legit trick tips, once you get them on lock add a lip on and you're golden.

hit some short flat rail dont lock in just tap it and hop off, continuing ur spin like a 3- worked for me

its all about commitment, just like every other trick in this sport you just have to get it out of your head and just go for it. I know thats a lot easier said than done but i feel you on the backside spin fear. Hell i got a front 6s before i got back 2s.

For me personally, a blind 2 is dependent on what my head does. I usually lock my eyes at the end of the rail and when I'm ready to spin I just twist my head around (which forces my shoulders to turn) and it gets me around well enough.

If I use my shoulders to rotate it's easier for me to over-rotate and sometimes puts me into a blind 4 if I'm lucky (if I'm not I'll land sideways and die).

Really just try it. My first blind 2 was a really long time ago, but I remember it quite clearly. I was scared to do them, and one day just decided I'd give it a go off a small flatbar. First shot at it once I just sacked up and boom it worked.

Its actually a super easy spin, you literally probably just need to try your first one and you'll be fine.
