Tips for beginner in the park?

Hey I've been skiing since I'm 5 years old but I'm getting into park skiing. I can do some rails and 360's but that;s it. Do you guys have any tips that might help when getting in the park for rails or jumps or grabs? Thanks!

i once was a noob like you, but then i took an arrow to the knee, no actually i still am not the greatest park skier in the world but three things helped me along the way:

1.https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/cult/forum/cat_id/4118/

the noob training cult, it has helped me get the basics down and learn the early stuff

2.https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/cult/home/id/1690/t/Trick+Tip+Forum/

more technical descriptions with harder tricks

3. ALL OF US!

we're all friendly people here, i wouldnt have gotten where i am without the help of others, from getting tips from vets to just waching other kids

basically just go for it. seriously tho, commit 100% to everything you try and you will be surprised at how many things you will "land" (or ride away sketchy-like) the first try. such as a 540, pop and spin just a lil harder and lay it down switch. its all smooth sailin from there. and always take speed into everything. thats all you gotta do

Agreed. I was usually the one with my friends doing the pushing. I never got too far...

The one time I skied with people that were a lot better than me I actually pulled off some stuff I didn't expect to.

This, and also I believe really not being to serious is good, if you try too hard you will get frustrated, just have fun with it, and go big!

This is exactly what I was going to say. Just go for it. If you never try it, you'll never be able to to it!

I know I'm older,by alot, but I've been learning some tricks in the park. I like to watch others approach and ride a feature several times before trying it myself. That helps me see the technique that works. Also getting tips from experienced riders on how to lean, where to transfer your weight etc.Once you decide to do a certain trick...go for it! Good luck:)

This, also, never stop pushing yourself or trying. Some of my friends haven't progressed in years...
