I just started getting into freestyle skiing, and im trying to improve as fast as possible I only get to ski about once a week and I am very new to park skiing even though Ive been skiing my whole life. I just started landing 180s and 360s and can do boxs but not rails and my switch skiing sucks. What should I do to progress as much as possible?

ski the mountain. the sooner you take your freestyle outta the park, the sooner you will kill it in the park.

shred every side hit, practice switch turns, learn how to carve, not just wedge switch 2 on...

ski out of balance, on one foot, slash turn, butter every last bump, hollow, mogul.

also, make sure you are center mounted, detune your edges for rails, is should happen naturally...

HAVE FUN!

Great tips, freestyle isn’t just what tricks you can do, it’s also a different way of skiing the mountain.

Thanks, any tips for getting to the first butters from just after learned 360s?

Take the time to learn park ethics! Safety in the park, or on the mountain is primal.

Then, hit jumps 50-50 boxes… just go have fun

Spend time on each trick and do them over and over again. Seen way too many rush it. When you don’t have the foundations down and moving to bigger tricks you will most likely develop bad technique habits which is hard to unlearn

Also get a nice pop and keep your shins forward against the boot at takeof, otherwise you will probaly land backseat

I always point rookies towards Stomp It Tutorials. Some of the instruction can be overkill, but great overview of the basics.

Just got wides, hopefully they help with the butter progression.

as a beginner skier wides prolly not the best because you have to know how to not land backseat or you'll wash out, but best of luck to you
