Tip of ski keeps coming apart despite epoxy

So I have these mindbenders (99ti 2023) picked up from Evo and on the 5th day of riding them one of the tips of the ski literally started coming apart. I didn’t slam these skis into anything so it must’ve been the snows fault. I tried loading epoxy into the part coming apart and clamping it multiple parts, but it keeps coming apart. I tried a 3rd time, I’m letting it settle for 2.5 days before I ski em. Does anyone have any better pointers to help keep the tip together from further delaming? I know the delam doesn’t seem big on the pic but this will quickly spread fat with the way I ski. Also, I try to clean it and sand it down a bit before putting epoxy, but it’s hard to do that when the tip is not that far apart and hard to access the inner part. The ski is so great, though, I just can’t seem to identify why this is happening. Tip protectors would be sweet, but it’s all about business right?

Drill holes and put some screws in

Did that also with my sakanas

You should have warrantied them immediately but after a DIY repair that's unlikely to work.

What kind of epoxy are you using? Doesn't look like West Systems G-Flex, if it's not you should try that.

I’m using a Walmart epoxy. I’ll try that

why dont park skis come with metal protectors for noses and tails?

These are all mtn skis. I totally believe that any ski which is park or freeride based should have extra protection because of how the skis are used. It’s a business tactic. I know that Vishnu recently encorporated the metal protectors which is nice

Said protectors proceed to tear out immediately.

And actually well built skis that also have no edge wrapping around the tip and tail will never have issues.

how do you store them? I noticed having my danollies standing in the corner of my room with a basket to catch water caused the tails to delam. I think the combo of always smashing them down on gravel in the parking lot or whatever before or after skiing mixed with them sitting in a small puddle of water (I was not aware of the water building up) caused a little delam.

To fix it west system gflex epoxy works the best while clamping with a few c clamps . Goop so much on that it almost becomes a cap on the ski and it'll stay forever.

Brother, there is only one type of epoxy. And its west systems gflex 650 toughened epoxy. or put screws in em.

Hockey tape for a quick and easy solution. I put hockey tape on a blown up tip as a quick fix at the hill thinking I would fix it properly later and it ended up lasting over 2 seasons. I do a ton of toe picks and shitty nose butters too and it still held up.

gflex but also if youre having trouble with gflex getting to bond, you might want to look up flame treating plastics. essentially it creates a layer that promotes adhesion.

ive also had good luck with regular jb weld. a whole lot easier to find locally. and honestly i keep the two tiny tubes if i go out for a multi day trip just incase my bindings tear out or something else could use some glue.

Thanks . I use jb weld tried multiple times but kept splitting apart. I just did a job and filed down the excess well see how it will

hold tomorrow. If not I’ll use the g flex stuff
