Tiny poles

im a peak 8 snowmobile driver at breckenridge, and i had to work yesterday but have a lot of down time so i got to watch a lot of the practice going. got a question... i saw a few guys rockin tiny as shit poles. why? do they not get in the way as much or what?

they are small so its harder to land on them therefore you dont have to replace them often

and small poles looks so much more styly then big huge poles

agreed, if and when i use poles in the park theyre extremely tiny, its just because most park skiers dont really carve or need them to get a good jump start for a jump etc. How ever when im out west and in the backcountry poles are pretty much mandatory for traversing and what not

i thought the guy i saw looked redic. bending down so low to push himself foreword... i think normal sized poles look/do the job just fine lol. if your breaking poles a lot smoke up someone who works in a rental shop ;-)
