jeauh i searchbarred this to no avail and what not. so yeah, anyone have a computer they like absolutely love. i dont know exactly what im gonna be doing with it just yet but likely mostly for school and a little gaming so nice graphics are a plus. uhhh. any suggestions?

mac you pay more for the little apple on the front. so id like to stick to a pc. forgot to add that.

Don't buy a Dell or HP or any of that premade crap. Build it yourself. If you're in the USA go to Newegg.com and buy all the separate components and then assemble it yourself. It'll cost you half the price and you'll get everything you want.

i current have a PC (Dell) and honestly.....for your own sanity please just get a mac. I will never again buy a PC after this, too many problems, too much spyware, too much freezing. money is much better spent on a mac in my opinion.

no one who owns a mac will tell you they'd rather have a pc....you simply will not find that. if you reverse that, somtimes they will. try a mac...just trust me. you'll be glad you did.

the less people that convert to mac, the less likely spyware/viruses will be produced for macs. so keeping that in mind, get a pc

disregarding money I would say macbook pro, but for around a grand you can get a pretty decent pc laptop. I've got an hp. I'm starting to get the itch for a mac, but as PCs go I like it. The only real advice I have is if you're getting a laptop and you plan on taking it around and dont edit a lot dont get bigger than 15 inches. Mine's a 14 inch and that's a pretty good size for everything except editing and even that i'm starting to get used to.

thats because you where a dumb ass with it, instal some decent virus protection and stuff and check what stuff is before you ok it for download.

over all if your smart with a PC it will last

Not really.

If you already have a monitor, and already have an operating system you can use (non-OEM, that is, you can transfer it to a new computer) then building a computer yourself is slightly cheaper...if you do not have those things, well...then...your going to pay a lot more.

Depends on your budget. The more youre willing to spend, the more you get (obviously).

I've used macs a ton, and don't really like them. Not to mention the cost can be staggering for what you get in terms of hardware. Hell, I recently got a computer w/ a quad core with 5gb ram for just about $900 (not super top of the line, but all Im doing with it is rendering so whatever).

If you're not doing anything too fancy (or too specific) prefab computers aren't so bad. They're bundled with a lot of shit, but nowadays that really doesn't have an impact. Building a computer can be neat though.

dude, i've never bought anything but prebuilt dells or hp's. if you just take care of it and be careful of what you do (aka don't be stupid) then you'll be fine.

one thing you should consider is looking on ebay for some good deals. i found my dell xps desktop there for about a grand when the video card alone was about a $400 dollar value. and a couple years later it still runs perfectly. your options are endless though man. don't base you decision solely on ns opinions.

i got a dell refurbished, if you watch there site you can get them for like half off. and they come with a one year warranty

my friend you are not alone. i also have a dell pc its like 3 years old or something and i hate it. now im sure the porn and limewire has fucked it up but idc. i have gotten the blue screen of death probably 5 separate occasions, right now i have it but it hasn't totally fucked my computer yet. when it does im prob. gonna get a macbook and get this thing completely reformatted so my mom can use it.

get a mac dude, my cousins have macbook (2), macbook pro, and imac and they said theyre amazing.

I'm not trying to convince you to do anything, but someone is selling a pretty much new macbook for 600 on craigslist in my town, I could get if for you if you want

i love the fuck out of my pc but i built it myself.

i have 2 gigs of ram

3.8 ghz pentium 4

2x300 gig hard drives.

dual monitors

2 dvd writers

its all in a custom case to.

i hate my compaq,it has so much viruses on it it can barely run newschoolers.although i wouldent get a apple.that guy was right building it yourself is the best way.

ant it is all red. it glows to. ill build you a computer if you really want. i can build you the most ballin' shit ever for like 2 grand.

Before I bought my macbook, I had been on a PC and had shitloads of problems with it.  I bought this macbook the middle of last summer (2006) and it has not frozen or malfunctioned one single time, it has a 2 ghz processor, 1 gig of ram, dvd burner, built in cam, 100 gig hard drive and i paid about 1350 with the student discount and got a free printer and ipod.  you cannot beat it. i would never buy a pc ever again.
