Time for a Camera update

I need some advice on a new camera, and i hate to say it but i wanna keep it under 2k, but if you guys think its a better deal/ idea i can go up but would prefer not to, need that money for some trips

Some things to say:

-It needs to be HD (no duh) with crisp video, popping colors sure why not, but clarity is a preference.

-Used to use a Vx1000

-The camera will be used for fun/ profit at one point not in skiing, but main use will be skiing/ skateboarding.

-We are on the east coast.
 
Good find, reading about them now, and what do your guys think of the gl2 / xl2, if the video is worth it i may take th exl2 plunge
 
personally i would say no mater what get a 3 chip. the colors might not pop as much in a gl2 but it will just look much better then most 1 chip hd's i would say for your price range a gl2 would be the best bet even if it isnt HD. As long as you keep the heads clean in that camera it will keep giving you good shots, very easy to use and is easy to do things with (follow cam, mount on a boom/ cable cam)
 
Ya really. For the same price, there's no reason to buy the GL2 over the FX7. For 2000, its such a good deal.
