Timberline vs. Meadows

T-line is sick, if anyone asked me which resort had the best parks I would say its T-line. But, Meadows has some pretty fun stuff right now. Check it out, this video is from March 2nd, and the parks are lookin better now.

Tline has the best parks on hood no doubt. Downside is that it's flat. There are a few steeps, but you have to know your way around and they are short. Its also the highest on hood and generally gets the most pow.

Meadows parks can be fun, but generally suck (bummer cause they could be awesome with the nike funding). Way more terrain to shred though, and steeper.

tline has way better park and is super fun, but meadows, especially if you know it well, has way better terrain. also meadows has a lot of fun tree shots and side hits on cascade

Im going up to meadows next week. i wud go to tline but my cousins have pases to meadows so i have to go there. still pumped though.

The terrain is sick at skibowl. I like a lot of the stuff on upper bowl, and you can always find some good snow in outback. The rope tow is real fun too, you can get so many laps on that thing.

they tore everything down and are rebuilding rose city and park place, hopefully they up the size and manage the speed a bit better, Rose always has crazy speed issues, either to fast or wayyy to slow

Upper bowl is the only thing i ski at hood. Meadows looks like it has some good spots but im happy at skibowl

well of course ski bowl is the shit, fusion pass is awesome, also i love the accesibility for cliffs

love timberline for the park because theres hardly anyone there and you just hot lap the quad chair right there. plus almost all the features are intermediate sized so makes an average rider have a good day when they can hit basically everything on the mountain.

I have also had a lot of fun at meadow. the forest terrain park over on HRM that has a lot of smaller stuff and is on that longer flatter run is really really fun too.

That'd be sick! But until then the Fusion Pass is the best combo on Hood. Tline for park, Skibowl for pow, and the rope tow at Skibowl is insanely fun.

Sounds like Tline just took a hit on their parks with the head park groomer Kyle Bradley moving away this past week. He is what has always made the parks, especially the big jumps, proper.

The problem with this is that while Ski Bowl has sick terrain. It can be real hit or miss as far as snow quality/quantity is concerned.

The money ticket is Meadows full pass combined with a Ski Bowl night pass, and T-Line spring pass.

Buy one less faggy overpriced sweatshirt and you can have all this.

I never been to Meadows so i cant really say anything about it. I love timberline! I like how mellow it is and there parks are always looking sick. Skibowl is also a nice combo too. I need to make it out to Meadows sometime

After doing the Meadows pass/Skibowl night pass/T line spring pass for 3 years now I am going to do a Fusion next year. The drive from Portland to anywhere on Hood is long and boring and the extra 40 minute round trip to Meadows just isn't worth it to me. Sure Meadows does have some fun terrain in Private Reserve and some fun windlips on Cascade and Vista, and the bowls can be fun too.

Overall though, I don't think Meadows is worth the extra cost or extra drive time. I also don't appreciate the ever rising ticket and pass prices. Yes I know they added RFID gates, and a new Stadium chair but none of that stuff enhanced my ski experience, only required a higher price tag to use it. Meadows does get good snow but also gets lots of wind and ice.

Yes, Ski Bowl is lower and gets more rain and less snow. It also gets much less wind and fewer people. Any place you decide to ski on Hood will be affected by wind, rain, and adverse weather conditions. I am fortunate in that I can pick the days I ski and I have skied some amazing days at all 3 ski areas.

I can cut 40 minutes off my round trip drive and still ski great snow, I might as well get a cheaper pass that allows me a longer season to 2 ski areas. Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. I will probably buy a lift ticket or 2 to Meadows for the good days

Noooooooooo! Devastating, hopefully there will be some up and comers from cutters camp to fill the void... Has their already been a noticeable difference since he left? I heard PCMR just fired their head cat driver as well, get him on the phone stat!

Meadows parks and customer service are some of the worst in the industry, the terrains sick tho (as tommy will show you). Tline is fun as fuck in the spring time!

I'm not sure what people expect from Meadows as far as customer service. PDX thinks that Meadows needs to bend over backwards to suck their dick.

They spin lifts, and open the terrain when its safe. What else do you need?

really? that sucks. i've seen all the signs about not doing it but the park crew always seems chill when it happens.

Meadows is soooo siiiiick, you guys should all go there.... I'll suffer through the fusion.... seriously go to meadows. Seriously...

All it takes is one ever so cautious Oregon driver a few cars in front of you to make that 9 miles a 20+ minute drive. Extra 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back equals extra 40 minutes round trip.

Done that the past 3 years. Meadows is a fun mountain, I can have fun other places though. I plan to ski it on some deep days this year. I really carry no brand loyalty to any ski areas, I just like to ski and plan to avoid the ant hills whenever I can.
