Timberline vs. Meadows

The tilte says it all.

Timberlines parks trump meadows any day. Meadows has much more terrain and has a park that you can night ski. Timberline has one lift for all three parks. What should I pick?

You seem to have a general understanding of the pros and cons of each. With that being said you should also look into the combo Timberline/Skibowl pass. As someone who does not ski park, I prefer the terrain at Skibowl to Meadows when the snow level is down low. However the snow at Skibowl can be shitty at times. But a combo pass is a viable option if you are looking to do both. Ultimately it comes down to do you plan on skiing more in the park or outside of the park? Personally if you are choosing between solely Timberline and Meadows, I would choose Meadows. Keep in mind that I do not ski park, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Thank you my friend, I may end up buying meadows right now and a timberline spring pass when the parks get good.

For the skiing I like to do:

Meadows season pass.

Ski Bowl night pass.

Timberline Spring pass.

Thats the combo you want, unless you like riding park. If so,

Timberline Season Pass

Fusion if you can afford it

Summer pass if you can afford it

if you are looking for park than definitely timberline but if you want to do harder stuff timberline is kinda flat and meadows is where it's at. they have some really nice runs up in heather canyon and private reserve on pow days. also just laps on cascade and shooting star are fun. meadows is better imo

i cannot handle skiing meadows unless i am going out to private reserve. everything else at meadows get tracked out super early, and I feel like the vibe is pretty fucking shitty. fusion pass is the way to go if you can afford it. also meadows park is literally deadly. the last two years at least one person has died in their parks, since they do no maintenance on their jumps or rails. the speed is also always an issue in their parks. i know so many people who refuse to hit jumps at meadows because of this

Yeah meadows parks aren't the best around, and don't remotely compete with timberline or bachy, but I feel that they are what you make of them. I had a great time this winter skiing mostly park at meadows. And They have the best terrain out of the 3 hood resorts in my opinion, and more cliffs.

I feel that the reason those 2 guys died isn't necessarily because of poor maintenance, but more a matter of the riders' skill and lack of wearing a helmet. It's not like they died hitting a gnarly 60 footer, they were hitting rose city jumps that were like 15 feet to the knuckle if that. And I've been trying real hard to sway meadows to take better care of their parks like they used to. It used to be a terrain park destination because of the half pipe, and MSP did some filming at meadows

I love both timberline and meadows, but the vibes and personalities are very different. Tline has a lot more kids that are rocking more trendy newschool stuff, like jiberish saga etc. While meadows has a lot of people rocking Trew. It's really 2 different vibes. The park rats go to timberline and the hood river folk, pow junkies and racers go to meadows.

That's my .02

i would say the vibe at timby is way way more laid back then medows.. and ski bowl is just plain fun..

i get all three. and summit of course.. best pow on the hill.

Meadows is a troupe of Subarus from Portland piled up behind my car on Hwy 26 and all of their occupants disgorged into lift lines and quickly tracked powder. Timberline is fast park laps, or slow pow laps traversing and skating for miles in order to hit one drop or steep turn. Skibowl is raging drunk, blower pow cliff lines blasting in your face at 9pm on a Friday night with a mountain of nachos waiting for you in the Beer Stube at the base.

My personal preference is a Fusion pass. Meadows terrain is sick and if you know your way around you can avoid the crowds to a degree; but the vibe there still turns me off. I rock a Fusion pass and hit Meadows on early-week pow days.

Hey, don't knock the Subie! I agree on everything about Meadows, but I still ski there. Timberline is so unbelievably flat. Skibowl is about 2,000 feet too low. Meadows is full of douchers of every color, fuckloads of people everywhere, and more douchers.

hahaha this.

None of the hood resorts are perfect, it's really all about which one fits you best. My preference is meadows but a lot of people seem to differ.
