Who is going to be at Hood April/May?

Im coming down from BC and it'll be my first time there. Planning to car/tent camp in the woods somewhere and ski most days (any tips on living for cheap down there would be appreciated). I'm trying to establish myself a filmer more these days so anyone who shreds and wants to get clips, hmu. (hood crew revival 2023 kinda shiii).

Hell ya dude you’re gonna love it. I went this past spring for my first time and it was a dream forsure. We airbnb’d it so I can’t speak much for camping advice but just be aware that the food in govy is def more expensive than your typical Walmart. When we got groceries we would just drive 45 mins to Hood River and made a sightsee trip out of it because the shit in govy general was so expensive.

I’m going to be camping for the first week then hoppin in on an Airbnb w my homies, as far as I’m concerned you’re def gonna need at least a 15°F rated sleeping bag. My homies who camped last year were pretty content with those and stayed warm. As far as charging camera batteries / phones go, I think they would just run their cars and charge em that way and / or swing by one of the places in govy for a bit to charge up.

Bring sunscreen and wear it. My face got toasted on a very hazy overcast day because the UV rays were still that strong and my skin was charred for the rest of the trip which was kind of annoying but oh well.

I’m no hood expert obviously but this is what I’ve learned from being there this past year, I’m sure you’ll get some better replies from the spring pass Vets on here. Cheers m8.
 
If you camp somewhere don't trash it. If your friends are leaving shit everywhere tell them to fuck off.

Obvious shit that goes for anywhere but damn.

Seems more like the portland partying crowd but spring pass people leave some fucked shit.

Also weather can be moist. Plan on moist weather and if the sun comes out thats a plus.

If you're camping for it def factor that in.

Spring is sick though. Cheap pass, solid park offering. Vibin

I’d see if you could maybe find an email on their website and shoot them a resume and some vids n see what they say. Checked ur yt out and I think you could have a shot at getting in there. It’s probably 90% a who you know thing..but could be an awesome opportunity for a fun summer on the snowfield.

it’s been years since I’ve been out there but I’d say explore the area a bit don’t confine yourself to govy the entire time, there’s lots of really cool hikes and things to do in the area especially if it’s your first time.

As far as the filming stuff goes I would say just make friends and hot lap, everybody and their mom is gonna be out there so to link up with some dawgs and make a name for yourself you really can’t ask for a better spot.

I always go out to hood with the intent to hike a bit but then I end up skiing almost everyday and my legs just don't have the juice lol

I'll be there for ~9 days or so in the middle of May

The homeless migration out of portland in the spring/summertime seems to get worse every year. Moist is an understatement, we got most of our snow in Oregon last year March-may and if I remember correctly timberline wasn’t even open the last weekend of may due to weather.

also don’t bother coming to bachelor this spring, operations will be all sorts of fucked up again with them shutting down skyliner early to get ready for the new 6 pack chair

Yeah sky will be closing at the beginning of may to start the 6 pack project. I’m not even sure they’ll be doing a spring pass at bachelor this year because I think the plan is to run operations out of sunrise in the spring using sunrise cloud and summit to keep people from riding around sky. I’m pretty salty we won’t have a proper sky spring park two years in a row now

I think I bought mine March 24 last year. I feel like they went on sale first week of March or something.
