Every year I want to go and feel like I can all the way up til March I realize I will not be able to afford it (the only year I could was when I tore my ACL...). Mt Hood May will forever remain a dream :')

I do feel like they should build a pipe. They're very by the date and number there though. Wont build pipe till certain date even though spring is chillin. Also will close conways and watch the jumps melt away even if temps are good and people are riding.
I get it but they've kind of established themselves as a freestyle mecca but dont seem like it sometimes
They've had seasons with no rails in for weeks at the start.
The one season when they chained the rails because people were hittong em. Tline open no park for 3 weeks. Somebody backlipped the chained up tube. Ended up in a Kemper ad. As much as Tline supports freestyle it seems like management hates it. Maybe I'll do a week or two of spring pass before heading south. Who knows.

Im sure they noticed a massive decline in spring pass sales last year with so many other places staying open through may. Im stoked to see tline make a cool decision for once, but ngl it was pretty nice not having to wait in huge lines all last spring. Stormin norman lift line is the best fashion show in skiing tho so Im excited to see all your fits

Tline has a no overnight parking policy up the hill. People do it sometimes but they're more strict than they used to be.
Snowpark is your best bet and 1/2 mile and same elevation as town so you don't have to drive off the mtn. The snowbunny snowpark has no toilets but the rest area at the edge of town by summit does. Not a great test area and can't support the traffic through but its something. Would recommend sleeping at the snow park not the rest area.
If you want something a little more chill frog lake has a bigger less hit up parking lot. Has two camping bathrooms. About 8 min from town. Less elevation then dropping the otherside toward 39 road. I just dont like beating up a vehical driving it from welches side and then up the access road. Frog lake isnt too bad. A little elevation gain but its up and down, not straight steep uphill.
Also obligatory pack it in pack it out. Don't dump your trash in the forest. At least find a dumpster

Is there a difference between snowbunny or trillium? Looks like they are across the road from each other. Is the pass the Oregon sno-park parking permit on the gov website? Do you know if the frog lake lot requires that permit as well? We might just avoid it if the road down there is shit though.
Is there anywhere is govy to catch a cheap shower other than jumping in a lake?

For a shower, Mt Hood RV village right on 26 between Welches and Brightwood was the move the summer I camped out in 2016, not sure how it is now though. That summer we paid $5 a person to get the hot tub/shower building code. When the code inevitably changes just be respectful/discreet in determining the new one, whether thats paying again at the front desk or bumping into someone friendly entering/leaving who knows the code, up to you...
Inflations been insane since 2016 so I'd be surprised if its still $5 but I'm sure its reasonable and it always hit the spot on days we weren't swimming and needed to freshen up. Bring sandals for sure, it's dorm room style showers. "Jumping in the lake" most likely won't be possible depending on the snowpack, as Trillium is usually still frozen over in May, and even if it wasn't it'd be a quick cold plunge not a cleansing swim. Hood area in May is a whole different beast than the lower elevations, it can still be full-on winter so prepare accordingly

Sometimes if its nice people lurk around the Chevron and Red House(they just painted grey recently) But employees living there or summits moght be down to trade for beer or weed. Harder if they don't know ya buy people are pretty chill.
I rock jug showers camping. Works pretty well honestly but sucks if its cold. If you can get it at a warm point on a nice day its not bad even in spring.
I like showering if possible so I'll make it work.
