Timberline Parks

Well to start off let me introduce myself. My name is Brian and im the new parks manager at timberline. What sort of stuff would you guys like to see in the park this year? Features, set ups anything you can think of let me know. I want to build the sickest park you guys have ever seen. I want your guys input because you are the people that are going to be riding it

jump lines as big and as early as possible for sure...does timberline have any of those real fat like old lift tower size pipe rails? those things are fun indeed. the spring park last year had some pretty epic flow, love to see that again

I don't get it, T-line fires me and hires this hack. What a rediculous move. I guess he must know what he's doing since he's asking people on the internet how to build a park. Moron

L

you know why they he calls himself ponyboy? he likes to go to his parents farm and "play with the ponys". He thinks he can build park but he has to hold a school every year called cutters camp so everybody else around the country can teach him how to build stuff all over again.....

Do you guys have any new rails for this year? And Stormin should be 100% park

A legit wall ride would be dope also

well dont you think taking your frustration out on a message board is probably not the best way to go about expressing your opinion on the subject. this isnt the place to get into a pissing match about certain former employers.
for the record i dont ski at timberline, i ski at meadows almost exclusively (except for my once a year visit home to utah). asking your patrons and possible future customers about what they would like to see on a ski forum isnt the worst way to go about getting new ideas. although my opinion of things like park features at t-line is probably less than ideal since i have never and probably will never ski their park (mainly because im not a big park skier and get a meadows season pass every year).

oh and im not attacking just you either, his response was just as childish and immature. my opinion of both of you isnt that great right now.

ok.. this is what you do .. its been proposed before.... line the bone zone with jibs... its not that hard.

fucking distrola thought of that shit. do you want to be less smart than that fartbag! tell old ned flanders to shuve it. and make bone zone a jib pipe.... and for fucks sake can we get a halfpipe this year! i know its winter permitting. but its been for ever.

and btw. ponyboy, cote is going to move in with you!

If you could take over Kruser you could have the Paintbrush jump line start up at the lift and you'd have a way better grade for more and bigger jumps. Lots of stuff you could do with Kruser: XL rail line, all wood park, pipe? And do you have any new rails this year? Longer, more creative rails would be awesome.

this! make kruser happen! just have a roped off sections for people passing by, and have a the line start at the first natural drop in by the lift that would be dope!, or make a mega park where they put the boarder cross last year that would be dope as well.

I have already submitted a proposal to the Forest Service to create a new run to skiers right of Kruser to allow non park skiers to get around a top to bottom Park over there. It's not going ot happen this year, but hopefully if approved we can get on that next fall. Paintbrush could be like it was 5 years ago. maybe 6-7 jump line of 40+. It's all in the hands of the government now...

what about the space that goes under the lift at the top where the border cross was last season, then feeds over to paintbrush? And you could then move the border cross down to on jeffs where you had it last year? to the right of the lift.

Couldn't you just rope off a small track on the far right of Kruser down to where it splits off? It doesn't seem necessary for a whole new run. Or just take over Kruser, why does there have to be a run for non-park riders on the outside of the resort? 6 jumps in the big park would be so sick. Bigger rails too. Doesn't have to be a super burly set-up (like the 09/10 WCS up-gap-flat-gap box), but maybe a bit more technical than just a dfd.

My proposition: fat rail line in the spring and summer that goes all the way down the magic mile. More time on metal an plastic than snow!

like sand canyon where the hidden halfpipe used to be???
dunno logs thats pushing it.. you would have to make a crazy runout to get back
but im for it. just dont let the hippies get wind of your idea

put the halfpipe back on spray paint.. and at least stat pushing up for it.... its kinda lame how for the past two years there has been 0 attempt on building a pipe for winter local riders.. but come summer.. oh shit theres 4.

please pleeeaaase build up conways a little bit early with all the snow the way it should be!!! so i dont blow out my knees over shooting the first 3 jumps!!

You put together a good park bro, I had a shitload of fun when I lived there, I'll never forget some of the sick sessions I had in April that year. I'm sorry to hear you got let go, but its probably not Brians fault. Fuck Hood, come down here to Tahoe, shit is dope!

Brian is the rollercoaster S box still around?? You should put that up as soon as possible, but put it in the middle of the beginner park and see how many lives it claims. Okay but seriously, when you build the beginner park LEAVE SPACE... fuckin gomers feel the need to stop after each feature for some reason...

Also try to build your advanced park a bit more like a slopestyle course. A couple sets of rail option at the top, followed by 3-4 jumps (when in doubt, space em out, less is more) and then some innovative features (gap to rails, wall ride, hip jump etc..) I'm envisioning this being built on paintbrush, but I haven't been up there for 3 years so I don't know how things are looking.

thanks, sorry about that post, me and Brian were foolin around. I'm still here. All is good at T-line. Sometimes we just have to mess around, never believe what you read on the internets.

I had a feelin you were trollin

I miss working at the brew pub like crazy, by far the best job i've ever had. Timberline has its quirks but for the most part its a great company to work for full time.

When do you guys think you will start to get some jumps up on the top of conways, now that the base is getting up around 80 inches? Next break between storms?

Halfpipe in Spraypaint would be sick. I'd rather have a big set of jumps in Conways and Paintbrush though. If you're doin any new rails, how about some LONGER ones?

Rode the park yesterday! best early season park yet! I love the jib park! really good. Can we get more creative wall ride/tap features?
Jumps were good for early season however. Work on getting the speed right, i noticed you had to straightline the first jump but the second you had to speedcheck like crazy! third jump was good still a little too much speedchecking for it. Build the jumps a little more poppy and distance. Strive to get that perfect jump that shoots you up there but the landing just floats under your feet.
alsooo can we get up by the jump line a rail feature next to the jump? like we have the jump and then to the right of it another lip to down box or something? or a lip to barrel tap? that would be sick. I want to be able to see some creative jibs from the lift.
Great job guys! Keep it up!!

DEAR PONYBOY
Im so deeply sorry to hear that, i was so pumped on the park last year and after I heard the news and saw the difference in the park I knew we had made changes. The last years of Timberline have been nothing less than absolutely amazing in the park, getting features up earlier than any other resort on opening day, conways last season, Paintbrush last spring oh boy the list goes on and on. I would just like to say THANK YOU for what you have done for this resort in the last few years, the park has consistently gotten better, i hope all goes well in the future!!!
Now a bit more upbeat, THE PARK IS AMAZING!!! besides the same old knee breaking conways jumps i seem to always undershoot or send technine to flat, NEW features got me beyond stoked!!! Up down bar needs a better landing, hitting it as a cannon is soo sick but not when you land in a bomb hole thats at a 2 degree angle. the FLOW is sooo good, getting my feet back under me was easy with how much flow our park has, feature to feature with perfect amount of space in between to speed check and get ready for next hit. ALL the space is being used and I LOVE IT! Basically only thing I can criticize is we need flat bars, and long shot gun rails, preferably a down rail and DINKER DONK down bar in a good hiking spot, besides that i think its safe to say TIMBERLINE currently has the best pre-season park in the NORTHWEST!!! STOKES ON DECK!!!!! keep killin it park crew

im stoked that your stoked. flat bars is a must gonna build a few when i get a chance. im going to be rebuild the rails and boxes this weekend hope to get them some bigger landing....thanks for your stoke man
