Timberline in late August

My mom is running some race from Mt. Hood to the coast of Oregon so I might be able to ski at Hood for a couple days in late August, so I checked their website and Timberline don't close until September 3rd. Does that mean they have their public park open until that closing day, or does it close sooner?

sparknotes: when does the Hood public park close?

depends on how long the snow lasts. A couple summers ago they had public park going (in some capacity) all the way until September. I wasn't there this year, so I have no idea what the snow field is looking like. I'm sure someone will come on & tell us, though.

If you time it right, Timberline has a really good park setup at the end of the summer. Once High Cascade is done they move the public park up to their lane so that it is lappable again.

Last summer, they moved the public park lane up to the high cascade lane. It was really good, there was no one there. You could lap palmer lift and not wait in line or hike.

thanks for the info guys, do you think they will make the lane switch by late August? and will there be jumps or just rails/boxes?

They move the park up as soon as HCSC closes. i dont know their dates but the internet can help you with that.

We will be moving up to Palmer the second week of August. If the snow is still good we should have 2-3 jumps, 10 or so rail/boxes and a 18ft pipe. All the way till Sept 3rd
