I have two pairs of boots, rossi freeride xx and salomon 1080, and i just don't know which ones to use next year. The rossis are suberbly tight and the salomons are just about fine a bit big. So i am asking if there is any advantage to having your boots very tight?

My friend asked me if i wanted to lay out or go water skiing, and thats when i realized that i dint want to answer this question and or any other aquatic sports question and i didn't want to see any of these people again. Next thing I new I went nuts.

i had some 1080s that were too big and they hurt like hell, so my shop threw some rossi xx's at me and they rule, just use booster straps.

i have the rossi xx's and they are really comfortable..well as much as a hard ski boot can be

What kind of a socks do you wear? I wear pretty thing ones with my boots because anything thicker will make my feet go cold. Have you used the Rossi boots much yet? It could that they have to break in still. Last ditch measures would be getting custom liners or doing something to the liners you already have to make them bigger.

I have the XX's and they rule, they are very comfortable. You have to make sure that they are packed out right though, wear them around the house alot to pack them out, and put a good insole in them, it will raise your arch, and pull your toes away from the front, making more room for your toes. BUT WEAR THEM LOTS! trust me.

i've had the rossis for a year now, i skied them all last season, the thing is they are sorta tight now and the 1080's are a ful size bigger, so i dunno if i should use my rossis next year too, like is there any use in them being superbly tight

ya, go with the rossis. if a boot is too big that means you have sloppiness. and with that comes more pain..i.e, black/blue toenails from your toes slamming into the boot, and more serious injuries occur from loose boots also, like torn ligaments and what not. think about it like a cast for a broken ankle, what good would it do if it was loose? And one more thing that could happen is that if your foot is loose than your edging wont be as precise. And what size are your boots. if they are a whole size than they will pack out more than if they are a half size.thes are all things to think about...and i'm spent

Boots that are too big = heel lift = crap skiing. Tight is good as long as its not cutting off your circulation. I have rossi xx's and they rock. Just make sure that you don't have one on hard and one on soft like I did the other day ;)

Freshies for a week after a dump? Temple Basin - Hell Yeah!

I have the double xx as well..and they are super tight around the toe...like, after a month of skiing my big toenails simply fall off. I found out at the end of the year that if you to a shop with a 'boot tech' he can fix the problem by heating up the toe of the boot and uses a special tool to expand the toe of the boot a little bit. It gives you a bit more space which keeps your feet warmer, and since it's just widening the toe, the boots still fit tight enough that your performance is unchanged.

the tounge of my boots pinches my shis and last week i was skiing some epic freshies then hit the park, did this 3 days in a row then my left shin started bleeding, i now have a huge scab, tight boots suck, they must fit nicely or your fucked
