Tight Pants and Skiing

not only do they have to be neon orange/purple or electric green, but you have to have mad skills to back it.

i bet more park skiers get made fun of for wearing tight pants than snowboarders do. mainly becuase gapers and racers wear tight pants and give skiers a bad rep. but when snowboarders where them, people dont care as much because snowboarding is tied in with skateboarding which is all about tight pants now. snowboarders like nima jalali, johnny miller, matty ryan and lots of others guys rock the tight fit. its all a matter of preference. i wear baggier pants becuase its more movable and comfortable

hahahahah tj ur just mad about the day you wore tight ass jeans and the 'im a hustler' shirt hahaha ive never wanted to punch you in the face and hug you at the same time so much

everybody just needs to buy the largest fuckin pants in the world XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxL

I guess my pants are boot fit, but I've had them a while. I hate putting them on and then having to stick my hand up from the bottoms to pull the pants I have underneath back down.

For those of you confused by that, when I put my ski pants on, my pants beneath ride up to about my knees.

honestly this is retarded... i think i'm gonna start wearing shorts to stir things up, this whole pant size argument is getting old.

yeah you do give a fuck... if you didnt you wouldnt have commented and let everyone know your opinion... but i think its cool...personally i cant pull off the tight pant look but if you like it then do it

i think bob sagat and tony d should box it out. tony d is for the potato bulge and bob is for parachute pants.

3,2,1, lets gettit on...

ireally think tight pants make all tricks look forced and out of control. Baggy pants hide some of the unnessasary movement or flailing, making tricks look better. Plus tight pants will make the skier look really really stupid

i know some snowboarders who wear mega-tight jeans and they spray rain-x on them so make them "snow-proof." whatever floats your boat.

yeh i support both but baggy shit is 1. warmer for us eastcosters freezing to death...and is overall*my opinion) way more comfortable...this year will be the first year i have actually baggy stuff...last year i had tighter pants and normal sized jacket...not that great...

that still looks lame to me (but mad respect for skiing ability)

it would piss me off if i saw someone in tight clothes and was good at skiing and thought my life was complete because i fouind a girl who can ski good. and then it turned out to be a man with a dong

That picture just completely ruins skiings image, that makes skiers look like little bitches who wear tight pants. That style makes me want to shoot myself. I think everyone should atleast wear big enough pants so there legs look the same size as their boot. Fuck tight pants.

Then by all means go for it. If the way somebody else dresses is going to stir you that much, you should probably just remove yourself from the gene pool. Seriously, does it really matter how somebody else looks while you're skiing? I don't think so. Just do your own thing and keep skiing from becoming a fashion show. We all go to the mountain to have fun, not to judge how cool we look to the world and each other.

It depends if the style is effecting skiings influence on everyone else. Sure, he can do what he wants, but he looks like a fucking tool.

If you're worried about skiing's image maybe you shouldn't be doing it. Personally, I could care if I was labeled as a gay meth addict if I skied; I'd still do it because I enjoy it. If you let other people's perceptions of your sport influence you that much you either need to quit or re-evaluate your stance on looking hawt on the ski hill.

if a few people need to be willing to look "like a fucking tool", in order for this sport to start to allow people to dress different from one another, rather than just different versions of their friends, then who cares.

isn't freeskiing about like, rebellion? on some level? or some shit? isn't the reason you're in this sport because you like the creativity and freedom it allows you to go about on a daily basis? which includes the fun it allows you to have?

wait!

YES!

YES IT IS!

HOLY FUCK GUYS!

EPIPHANY!! RIGHT THURR!

I don't care who you are or what stature you have, but if you have no respect for creativity or at least appearing somewhat different, then freeskiing is not for you. You're going to spend your entire existence trying to fit into something you'll never understand. And in turn, YOU will be the one looking "like a fucking tool."

Might of already bin said but SVen Kueenle (some european guy on the K2 team) reckons that people who wear really baggy pants have something to hide. I like baggy tho, really baggy. But not when I'm not skiing.

I love how the only people who have their heads on straight are the Surface kids. It doesn't matter what you wear, everyone has their own style. I have way more respect for guys like Nyman who actually try to give our sport a good image, rather than be gangtsa-ass wannabe's who wear xxxl Oakley shit just 'cuz Tanner does.

Ian, this picture is sick!

They dont go together at all. Old women skiiers wear spandex and that is not cool. so unless you want to look like an old woman than keep with the baggy huge pants. Besides i have never seen a pro skiier wearing skin tight pants.

one of the guys on field productions was wearing them before in the mammoth video and he pulled it off for sure

unless t-hall pops into this thread all of a sudden or some army of pros comes in and starts the new tight pant trend this thread is going to go on for a long time with evryone saying tight pants are cool or gay.
