I have a 1990 golf gti and im lookin into getting me one of them racks to make more space (cause there is none). anyone ever used a rack on this car or a similar that can give me some legit reviews? thanks, +k for help

go to your local thule/yakima/other rack company store and they will have a big book with make and models that tell you what racks fit. i believe this is also on most companies websites.

please put up a picture when you do get one.
im guessing you have an mkII, my favorite model. and your getting a thule, my dream set up.
you have my dream car.

I just installed the rack you need to buy on a 1990 Jetta GL

No idea what it is from Yakima, but with Thule, you need a special rack set that Thule made for the Mk2 cars. They fit into and around the rain gutters on the edges. The bars for them are 44" long, so if you are planning on putting much more than a ski rack, you'll be pressed for space.
The rack itself is 206$ on backcountry.com

If you want a ski rack, you're looking at 300-350 for the whole deal. you're looking around 450-500 if you want a ski rack AND a bike rack.
If you get a bike rack, you will barely be able to fit a 6 ski rack and a ski rack on there, so dont expect more than that unless you go for the 4 ski holder.

yeah do what sean said... 209 for the bars and attachment to the car isn't bad.. and theres not many left because they are legit from the 80's. the box is so funny. you'll get free shipping on them.
