Hi

I have been trying to decide whitch ski I should get for this season as my powder ski. I have been looking at the following:

Atomic Thug

Armada Ant

K2 Emeny AK

Scott P4

From what I have heard they all have their good and bad things. So it has been quite hard to decide.

At the moment I'm in for the Thug, but have heard it should be very soft. And the AK even softer. The Ant should be the stiffest and the Scott somewhere in the middle.

So please write what the pros and cons for each ski is, and if you could compare two or more that would be great.

Thanks

the thug looks REALLY REALLY fun, the ant slightly less fun (just because its stifffer). i dont know the about the other two, but playing with the thug and the ANT in my local shop, i think they would both be fun, but hte thug would be more fun.

Just as a powder ski for the days with alot of powder. I would like to be able to straigt line, big turns, drops and tree runs.

You seem to be in the same situation as me. I am trying to decide what ski I should buy for my season i Whistler. I have been looking at almost the same line up, just added Gotamas. Even though I have not decided yet, I thought I would share the input I have received in this question.

Armada ANT - More of a Big Mountain ski than the others. Quite stiff, even though they have made it slightly softer and lighter than last year´s. Though it is the stiffest of these.

Scott P4 - A quite soft ski which is meant to be ridden in the BC. Much softer in the tail than the nose for better flotation. Great in pow but not as reliable if you are going really steep really fast.

K2 AK Enemy - More of a BC ski aswell. Though theyre more allround than the P4´s. But they are pretty soft and at high speed wont be as stable as the ANTs.

Völkl Gotama - The most allround Big Mountain ski there is. With the Gotama you can ski everything everywhere and not be dissapointed. Sure, it is not as stable as the ANT and does not have the same flotation as the P4´s, but in terms of allround use the Gotama is outstanding.

Atomic Thug - This ski stands out a bit since it is more than 10 cm wider than the rest. This ski is made for deep snow and open fields. But it is nothing to charge steep lines or ski tight tree runs with.

Ranking:

Big Mountain:

Armada Ant

Völkl Gotama

K2 AK Enemy

Scott P4

Atomic Thug

BC:

Scott P4

Atomic Thug

K2 AK Enemy

Völkl Gotama

Armada ANT

My opinion is based on information from people in ski stores and people who have skied these. It is not the absolute truth and if someone has any opinion on anything I would be more than happy since I have not decided for myself yet.

except in Whistler, where I can assure you that the ANT will dominate if you can handle a 191. Ask JD about that ski and how it skis Whistler.
