Throwing 180s

it depends on the rotation you are trying to set. bio and misty 1s are similar while cork and rodeo are set a bit more forward. hope this helps!

step 1: take off pantsstep 2: take off shirt

step 3: take off anything else

okay now you are aerodynamic enough for a 180!

approach jump with shoulder width stance

set shoulders for your spin going off the lip

pop

turn sidewayz in air

bring skis around to 180

spot landing

land facing uphill

afterbang

go towards lodge

stop at ski rack

take off skis

walk up steps to lodge

open the door

get on the floor

everybody walk the dinosaur

for 180s you really don't have to use much arm movement, all you really do is just look over your shoulder and you'll get around. if you can't get them around it might be because you're trying to spot your landing. can't do it, gotta commit to being backwards.

Make sure your head is coming round too and not just looking from where you took off. If you just stare at where you took off you'll get to about 90 and bail. Your body follows your head.

As much as I laughed at the first few comments, I think OP needs some proper advice.

A 180 isn't a spin. It's just a shift in the legs. Your eyes never come off the landing. You don't need to wind up and you shouldn't end up looking back at the jump. Try it on flat ground while standing still. Once you realise how easy it is try it off a kicker. Just take your time and trust your skis to come around.

As a general rule, if you 360 to the left you 180 to the right. Both will have you looking over your left shoulder. If you want to get comfortable looking over that shoulder then just practise some switch skiing. Look around your shoulder while staggering that side's foot backwards. That's the stance you want when you land.

proper 180 = legs do a full 180, body stay at 90, head keeps spotting in front of you. When doing a 180 there's no reason to look up hill, just remember that. Don't try to throw it like a 360, it's a different trick. If you're winding up and throwing your arms, you're doing it wrong.

think about turning your hips not your head... i don't know if I'm making this more complicated, but I did shitty 180s for years before really learning how to do them properly

Are you all serious....??? It was a troll thread!

With over 1000 posts I really doubt he is asking how to actually throw a 180. You guys are far to gullible for this site.

it is sad to me that no one knows who billiards is. What a great human being. you guys should find out and meet him.

yeah, simple math, 10x180=1080 duhhhh.

it's just multiplication, you add zeros in-between each number, didn't you go to 4th grade?
