Thoughts on Trampolines?

Ok so right to the point, is it worth it to practice tricks on trampolines? In my opinion it is, however a lit of people have been saying no its not the same and it practices bad habits. I do know that many tricks are different on a trampoline as you don't have skis. Also what are your thoughts on tramp parks? What similarities are there between trampolines and snow? Differences?

*sorry if it's a repost nothing I have seen helped! :D

So worth it. Tramps help you learn rotations so much easier. Trying something for the first time on snow would be sketch as hell without tramps.

There's so many positive things about a trampoline, you really can't go wrong with them. The more spinning and flipping you do, the better off you'll be in the winter. If nothing else, it gets your legs in better shape for skiing. But I do believe that it helps with tricks too. Its really good to learn corks and rodeos on

Trampolines are great. Even if they don't help you learn new tricks for skiing their still lots of fun anyway.

I've learnt all my flip tricks on the trampoline before doing them on skis. Seems to help.

Maybe it might help or maybe it's not. For an air flipping thing, it might be helpful, but I don't think it's really necessary. I also think that doing it in a trampoline with skis on is dangerous. I have a friend who accidentally broke his nose while doing some back flips in a trampoline.

It's worth it. Obviously it won't be the same because you're just going up and down instead of like up down and forward when you're on an actual jump, but the motion is pretty much the same. Your legs aren't restricted by skis so it'll be easier to do rotations on a tramp but by practicing them you'll definitely feel more confident on snow. It'll be a bit different to go from tramp to snow but it'll be a lot safer to train on a tramp instead of just hucking it.

As for tramp parks, the only place I know of is skyzone and those tramps aren't bouncy enough and you'll get bitched at for doing doubles so it's not really a training place. I threw a triple front ( kinda dumb on my part but in my defense I competed gymnastics nationally so I knew what I was doing) and I'm no longer allowed in there haha. My best advice for finding a good tramp place is to find a gymnastics gym and find out if they do an open gym night. They'll have actual tramps made for that kind of stuff and foam pits to jump in to and that would be ideal, I think. Also, tumble traks are great. They're like a long trampoline kinda like a runway with a foam out at the end and you can run/ bounce down them so you get that forward motion of a jump on snow. Those would be at a gymnastics gym as well, where as a tramp park might not have them.

yeah worth it for sure. a group of us go most weeks hit the tramps and foam pits. it definitly helps with air awareness, is fun as and also pretty good cardio.

Your friend sucks cock at backflips

tramps are awesome for bringing stuff to snow. They're also wicked fun. Definitely a good investment

This. I have a tramp, one of those circle ones so its not amazing but I've learned most of my single flip tricks which I am hoping to bring to snow this summer at camp.

I love skyzone, it's amazing for progressing bigger singles but not doubles. Gotten both cork and rodeo 10s, also a bio 12. /claim I've been to a gym once and I didn't really like it because the tramps were high off a concrete floor so you will essentially die if you fall off, I'll be heading to a better one this Saturday I think, hopefully get some doubles.

Oh really? My gym never had that but yeah I can see how that would be sketchy. Double fronts aren't hard. In all honesty, you just need more height and you just need to stay tucked. If they have a tramp to pit, definitely do it there before just a regular tramp. You'll pull it around no prob

Yeah, I'm really just looking for a double flatspin 7 and a few double corks. I've done the progressions bouncing on to my back but it just need more air. The axis that I throw them on never gets me completely inverted, but I'd still like a soft bed for coming down wrong.

Perfect for getting air awarness like with dub corks ,flats,mistys,backflips...! It will definetly help a lot
