Thoughts on new whistler chairs

Nobody wants to wait in line. Mountain gets tracked out already super fast. The only think it sucks that crystal got sold and we don't get any tower tubes for the parks.
 
i really wish that the new crystal chair didn't go right over fragle rock and cancer man cause those are two of my favorits.

i also think the new spot is a bit of a pain to get to i liked how i could just do quick pow laps with the old crystal. i think it does not benefit beginner skiers either cause it makes it more difficult for them to get to the crystal hut.
 
I personally think it was a waste of money, Harmony is only busy on Pow days and super long weekends, Green chair needed a 6 pack, not harmony. They have spent all this money making new lifts but not opening any new terrain, they should open some new terrain.
 
^agreed, they should of opened more terrain instead. It's better than nothing but could have been better spent
 
they are making crystal a high spead quad and making the bottom go to the bottom of cancer man/cogs corner on the blackcomb glacier road and they are making harmony a 6pack
 
the only thing i like about crystal is being able to lap CBC now without going down to excelerator. but then CBC will be getting tracked out alot faster. way she goes i guess.

i agree that green chair should of been upgraded to a 6 pack, that chair becomes a zoo on busy days.

hopefully GAS gets going and that will help alleviate the crowds at whistler. who knows if that will ever get built though.
 
spot on. i also think its gonna suck for the crystal area. its gonna get skied way faster now. at least the line at excel wont be insane anymore.
 
Garibaldi at squamish, possible new ski resort. I dont think it even has full approval yet though so it wont be here anytime soon. It will be awesome if it does work though
 
I think red chair should have been the 6pack because it has a 6 person gondola leading right to it. Green wouldn't do as much for dispersing people.

As far as crystal goes, i am stoked to have a faster chair, just devastated to have it go through all the best places.

ah well, c'est la vie.

 
what new terrain would they open though they could open oboe but that would mean that flute would get tracked and that would open mostly blue stuff, or they could open the area past 7th with bouterville and bodybag which would mean no more fun jumps and mostly blue groomers though that would open up disease/decker ridge. if you don't know what i am talking about check this sight its a google earth of whistler with all the marked runs and more including backcountry stuff http://www.3dwhistler.com/#what i said is by no means what they are going todo just my view on what they could do to open new terrain.

as you can see they plan on putting a base in at function junction (thats why they changed the name on the sine on the highway to checamus base) and they plan on putting a lift in on khybers pass

here is the blackcomb masterplan there is no new terrain planed there just new lifts such as the new excaliber, which i think is sick and, which will eventually go to glacier creek

oh and i forgot to mention that they do plan on making emerald a six pack in the near future also those masterplans go way into the future
