Thoughts on Cove Shocker ?

sick the original cove bike shop is like 5 min from my house. The shocker is a sick bike, what year are you looking at?
need more info though, what is your height, weight, rider ability and what you primarily do and where you do it.

I rode a shocker for two years, and its sick ride. Its a bit of a plow bike, it blows through anything no matter how rough. Its pretty heavy though, and isnt as nimble as you might want. All in all though i'd say i loved mine

bike is deece, however cove as a company is a real pain in the ass to deal with.

My friend bought an 08 peeler from the cove and while he liked it the shock (vivid 5.1) blew up and when takedn to the shop found out it had the wrong mounting hardware which caused it to move around and blow up. After numerous emails and phone calls to cove to get his recipeit to warranty with sram he finaly got it. Cove sent it to sram and they did fuck all wiht it, shipped it back to cove and they also didnt fix it. Shock blew 2 times more (both of first rides), Cove said absolutley nothing. He worked all summer to buy the frame and they fucked him over and wouldnt help him at all with anything. He ended up calling them over 10 times before he got a recpiet. Bike is now sold.

sparknotes: bike is good, company is not

The only Cove store or one of the only stores is located in like West Van which is 2hrs away from this kid's house. It wouldn't be as much hassle if he had a problem.

^rockshox's first run of the vivid was bad, they all blew up cause it usually takes a season or two to iron out all the problems they have with a product.

i know 2 people who have the shocker, and they all say it is a really good bike, they have no complaints.

I know the Cove is in west van. That's where he bought the bike, its only 3.5 hours away, a day trip.

Also he ended up getting a brand new 2010 vivid but that didnt solve the problem because cove never gave him the correct mounting hardware.

Mm yeah I saw one on pinkbike but he isn't selling it anymore and they're pretty pricey new so I'm going to look around..

A friend has one and he really likes it; even more than the Devinci Wilson he had before. Heavy, but damn near indestructible. It's definitely in contention for my next DH sled
