Lol that's fair to say, but seems as though people know he was an instructor, so if he still needs money after already having a job he needs new work or two jobs, not donations to help him just ski off others earned money.

I know, its just the whole asking for handouts without a good reason thing, but yeah I guess good on you I should only hope the edits he puts out are good, I guess.

Also, I think the funding makes sense. He has enough of a following that people will actually notice, and he for sure has enough fans that want to see more footage to donate a little towards an edit. He might as well monetize his popularity in some form, and patreon is a pretty direct way to do it. He does make a good point about consumerism, even though he may not have articulated it as well as possible, and it probably wasn't even necessary for him to address that for people to donate a little.

How many people on NS would donate money for Delorme to drop an edit next season? This is essentially the same thing.

Whether people are asking or not is immaterial. They both have fans, B-Mack may have fewer, but obviously there are still people who are willing to donate.

Not only all that, I also don’t understand any of his “over consumption” narrative, like at all. He says “fuck the consumption that’s ruining our planet” but then asks for money so he can drop youtube edits? I fail to see the connection

sounds to me that he is trying to sell you something but to "cut out unnecessary material waste" he will just give you nothing instead. what a great guy.
