The moral? Always wear a helmet. Without my helmet I would probably be in a coma right now.
 
I saw a little 3 foot drop lookin thing, went over it, sunk in and tumbled into a huge boulder pile. Fucking hurt, but I had no idea I had hit my head til I got home.
 
I was with him, he went off this little like 5-10ft hit thing and it was pur rocks covered by a layer of snow, and he fell down to what looked like powder, but was actualy covered rocks, lots of them. It was funny as fuck until we realized he landed on rocks.
 
I did the same thing at Big Sky last year, except I came down in a sled. It makes you evaluate the risks you're taking a bit more, doesn't it?
 
Damn dude, mother nature can be a tricky bitch sometimes. My buddy got a peg through his helmet on the forehead area when he bailed mid-air on his BMX. Honestly, he would have died without that thing.
 
That's crazy! And giro 9's are fairly strong, I have hit my head lots and never put anything in mine like THAT!
 
haha, i when i was around 10 that happened to me. i fell of a chairlift right after i got on and put my head up and the chair smacked the back of my helmet, not that big of a dent though
 
Yeah its safe to say that I will never consider skiing without a helmet anymore. The crazy thing is that I almost did trade my helmet for a hat that day.
 
haha I did the same thing as you once except I sunk in all the way to my knees and there wern't any rocks. Then I face planted and rolled. It was funny. I doubt yours was as funny though
 
i thought the same thing last year, then got whiplashed and banged my head on the icy floor of a halfpipe
