This was my first year of free skiing, what should I have learned by now?

All your doing is trying to impress people. Terrible way to start your account on the site

You fucking suck. First year and you can't even double? Give up. Just give up right now. It's not even worth it to continue this sport you're CLEARLY not cut out for.

im not trying to impress people i think i suck and all my friends have learned way more than me so I'm not sure if i made good progress?

my first year i only learned 3s and basic slides, but then again none of my friends were that good so we didnt have anyone to teach us the harder tricks, so yea if thats not a claim then good job

/claim.

I'd say you're progressing slightly slowly but nothing too bad. I've seen a lot of new people enter free skiing and I'd say doubles late first season to early second season is fairly standard.

Doubles? No, most people i know skipped doubles and went to triples after learning backflips.

Learn to ski(well) 1st. Then try the shit you just said: 5's,flips, bla, bla. I amazes me how many people I see in the park who dont even have the most basic of ski skills down 1st.

Can you do any rails or boxes?

It also depends....is it your first year skiing in general? If so, then yes, that is good progress.

no

but seriously if you had fun learning what you learned then thats good progress. only opinion that matters is your own

you should have learned that there's always somebody younger and better than you. It's just unbelievable now.

I can confidently tell you that you are no more than 14 years old, and you surely bought a 3xl jibersaga suit to look cool, although all of the older skiers laugh at your stupidity on a regular basis.

No, you don't think that, or you wouldn't have posted the thread.

If you have any video of the tricks, go back, look at it, watch yourself doing the tricks, and ask yourself if you're happy with how it looks. Is it consistent, can you do it really well every time? Those should be some determining factors on how much you have progressed, not your friends.

My first year I learned how to slide boxes and do 180s. Also, not sure if troll thread or real thread.

There's nothing you "should" have learned. Progression happens at different paces for different people, depending on how often they ski, who they ski with, where they ski, etc.

There is more to freestyle skiing than just spinning as fast as you can and hoping you land it. A lot of times the skiers I look up to in the park aren't even doing that impressive of tricks, but the tricks they are doing they're doing with a ton of style! Stop focusing so much on what tricks you're doing, and start focusing a little more on how you are doing them and how they look!

*started and way to many uses of "and"

And to answer the OP, I'd say you can safely assume that you suck penises.

Depends on what you want to achieve, whether its to be able to compete in comps, to go pro, to be good at claiming, to have everyone on newschoolers hate you, etc. It really all depends on you, and where you want to go.
